My first big Mod (Boss 302 rear diffuser)

I have had one mod on the top of my list since I got my car. The Boss 302 rear diffuser. I was debating on doing it because it involved me cutting into the bumper of my new Mustang. But I decided that I would take my chances. It was a major undertaking. I had to completely remove the bumper cover of the Mustang for the installation. Removing the bumper also required me to take off the inner trunk panel, mud flaps and tail lights. Once removed I had to cut the bottom of the bumper off as well as cut slots for the tabs of the diffuser to insert in to. After the cutting was done I attached the diffuser to the bumper cover and put everything back together again. In the end it was all worth it because I love how it looks. It adds a bit of aggression to the back of the mustang as well as help it stand out from the crowd. I attached a few pictures of process in action.

That or a GT500 diffuser are on my long term list of things to buy. As can be seen with yours, they look so damn nice!

I'd love the gt500 diffuser but it looks ugly without a quad exhaust :/

Where do they sell the boss diffuser for the 2013-2014 mustangs?

Looking good! I never thought of how much an improvement this rear made over the oem, it really ties the rear together. I think an Axle-Back might fill up the back nicely but get used to the styling mods first! There's no fun in dumping a ton of mods onto the car in one fluid motion. We'd love to see your car at our 6th Annual Car Show this August if you can make it out as well! This looks like it was totally worth the time and energy too again, this makes me want a red GT badly now!

That looks really good. I didn't notice you painted the lower section of your bumper until you mentioned it. Nice idea. As far as a set of Axle-Backs that is definitely on my to do list.

Thanks for the complements

Awesome job man. I want to change my rear diffuser it just is a pretty daunting task... cutting my bumper makes me cringe. Drilling holes for my new spoiler was scary enough haha. Eventually I will do it... you have given me newfound hope and confidence, and motivation since yours looks so good!

Have you thought about painting your side rockers to match the car? I think it would flow better with the painted rear as well as make the car look lower. What do you think?
