0-100

Saw this fat and furious show last night where they put a 427 in a 68 fastback and tried to get under 13.5 in the 0-100. Then it hit me, isn't 13.5 kinda slow. So then I began to wonder what's the 3.7 stangs 0-100? Anyone know? 13.5 just seems slow to me.

100mph is about what my car traps in the 1/4 mile. Thats 270 horsepower and 315 torque to the crank. My ET is higher because of lack of traction.... 13.5 for a 0-100 is pretty much a 4.6 2v quarter mile time. Which is near what a 3.7 does.

A stock 4.6 2v is generally closer to 14.0 - 14.5 to 100.

Motortrend and Car and Driver both have the 3.7 Mustang with 3.31 gears (manual trans) timed right at 13.0 - 13.1 0 - 100.

The same magizines, have the 5.0 getting 0 - 100 in around 11 seconds.

So yes, a 13.5 second 0 - 100 is honestly .. slow.

Just to show stats for a fast car, my H/C/I Z28 on a 150 shot does 0 - 100 in 7 seconds (right at the 1/8 mile) .. on street tires. In 13.5 seconds, I'm confident it would be very, very close to 140 mph. So .. yes, 13.5 is really slow.

I know a guy who did a 13.0 1/4 stock motor around 100 or so. He had great traction and spot on shifting.... It is doable, just don't see it often.

Hence why I said generally.

There are ringer cars out there, sounds like he may have one.

It was a V6 car and he swapped in a 4.6 2v and stock 8.8, if you looked at it then it would look like a stock GT

It doesn't help acceleration that each of those guys weigh like 300bills.

True true. But 13.5 for a car they claimed was making 475 hp?? That just puzzles me
