Removing fins is upto your discretion, I guess. My machine shop guys bolted on this tb onto the IM without any problem, with fins still on. I'm assuming removing them is going to 'maybe' minimally increase airflow, just because there ain't no restriction anymore.

Either way, I didn't see any point paying 320 bucks on bbk for v6 when I can get a bigger tb.. bolted on and ready to go for less than half the price.

the 80mm tb would not open nearly all the way for wot on my manifold unless I removed the fins. Have you checked to see if it opens completely? And I agree about getting a bigger tb for a fraction of the price and a little elbow greese. I did it myself which makes it even cheaper.

Oh I don't have fins anymore. He bolted on my tb just after milling holes to see if they're aligned properly. I had those hideous looking things removed afterwards. He had all the right tools, so I just asked him to do everything for me. 80 bucks for milling and taking care of fins.

I'm Going to do some data logging this weekend and will post up the info I get. I am not very technical on Reading all of it and understanding it. I'm more mechanical and not nearly as technical. I have shorty ceramic headers, gt tb, steeda intake with velocity stack maf, axel back exhaust, dynotech 3.5"driveshaft, oil catch can, and that's aboutbit besides all my suspension

Perfect. I need to do a datalog for my mpt and Bama tune too, I am looking to do it on a dyno to get proper WOT data. I can't even go beyond 4500 rpm here in my town lol 40 bucks for 2 dyno pulls.. should be worth it.

That's pretty cheap. I work the night shift right now (in the navy) and drive highways alot so the roads are conveniently open and empty. To only go as fast as 75 though. Haha

Can you do me a favor and post a copy of your log here, as well as a virtual dyno? I'd like for this thread to kick off and become a useful tool for everyone.

I'm just glad somebody finally got it to work! I had been asking since 2 years ago on other forums and everyone gave me the same response "no, it will not work or fit. Don't waste your time"(in a nut shell) appreciate you being a guinea pig for us all 14mustang!

We just need a before and after datalog to see what it's doing. Anyone got any pics of the milling/drilling process?

As soon as i have the time / effort i'm going to run a spare TB to the machine shop over by where i work and have them work this to fit my GFs v6. Hopefully we can get some (more) good data going on this mod.

I don't have any in the process pics. Again I used a hand drill so I had to pay attention to what I was doing. No time for a selfie

Umm get what? Lol sorry I didn't understand your question. I chose to take it to a machine shop for 3 reasons:

1) I didn't have any tools on me.

2) If i had to go buy some (drill and some sort of cutting thing to remove fins), I'd have easily spent 50 bucks on that.

3) For 30 bucks more, I got it done (milling + removal of fins) from a pro knowing that it's being done right. It required great deal of precision, something I wouldn't be able to do with minimal experience that I have.

I did 3 datalogs, sent it to mpt and Ken was like he couldn't see any WOT data. And that max rpm achieved was 2400 rpms? Umm wtf?! Gotta call mpt now.

Throttle seems bit jumpy, and it's sort of more responsive that before. I got my bama tune back, need to load it and do further datalogs to refine it.

I believe that was the log you posted in the VD thread, which if you remember i broke it down and showed that you actually werent WOT in the mid range at all. I'd save your time and just snag another datalog, no sense in sitting on hold or something.

Yeah but I attached 3 datalogs, not just the one 1 posted in virtual dyno. And also the fact that he couldn't find rpms higher than 2500?! Which is certainly not possible.

It were virtual quarter mile run (it gave me that retarded looking graph in virtual dyno) , and the one was just a spirited run from a stop sign.

Either way, I will try to do another datalog with newer version of the tune soon. It's been passing rain here literally every single day.

Does anyone know where I can find the exact bolt pattern dimensions for a GT TB? It would be so much easier to make a template. I have calipers but would rather be exact if possible.

You need the v6 trottle.body for a template. Your drilling v6 tb holes into the gt throttle body

Put stamp ink on it and then press it to the white side of a piece of card board

I was hoping to use a 2D CAD software I have to make a template. Guess I'll just have to take careful measurements.

Well, turns out Ken from MPT was looking at my old datalog.. not the one I did this time. He sent me a screenshot of his live link page, there were a few parameters in it that I didn't not log this time. No shiet it had 2500 as max rpms lol

I sent him screen shots of my data from livelink, and a fresh copy of data once again. Let's hope everything works this time!

He did tell me though in the email to get back to him if I want he quoted the best tune and that u should try this out first and see how I like it and also sent him my data log as well.. I'm just wondering why he didn't go for the best..

I don't have the x pipe. I was toying with the idea of leaving the cats and having them cut out to 2.75 inches and then run into a custom xpipe followed by dual resonator mufflers. Not sure if it would have any gains but the stock resonators and x pipe look restrictive.
