After lurking and compiling info from Mustang Evolution among other places on the web, I pulled the trigger. Last week I bought a new '14 coupe. Three options: V6 Performance Package, Recaros, and the Tech/Sync Package. I love it. Period. It handles like a slot car.

27 hours after taking delivery I had over 500 miles on it. I drove 3 hours to buy it. Drove it back home, then took my son home to Columbia, MO and drove back to St. Louis again.

Here it is at my son's place in Columbia

I was sold on the 3.7l cyclone prior to purchasing the Mustang as I already own two of them! A 2009 Mazda CX-9 and a '13 Lincoln MKS. I call the 3.7l the little engine that could. I think it's a terrific powerplant and couldn't wait to get it in the Mustangs 3500lb. chassis. Needless to say I'm as impressed as I expected. It's as fast as my buddies 4.6 GT and handles much better. Of course the GT has the irreplaceable V8 rumble, but I can live without it for 30mpg......

What do you guys think? Tinted windows? Stripe? 3.7 emblem? Any suggestions? Exhaust? It's a Mustang, I need to do a few cosmetic changes. The wheels are staying. As far as Mustangs in general go there aren't too many rolling around with these wheels as there were only a few thousand Perf Packs produced each year since 2011. (I'm not going to tune as I have an extended warranty.)

Axleback exhaust would be nice on it. Spend the extra money and go for Borla S-types is my recommendation. Glad you like the car, and welcome to our community!

Welcome to the forums!to start off you could tint your windows, definitely exhaust, you could start with just a axle back for now and in the future add mid pipe/headers. From personal experience I recommend the borla s-type ab's, roush are popular one's as well but I have never heard them in person. Spoiler would really change the appearance as well, gt500 being one of the popular choices. Window louvers can be something you could add as well. You will hear many more options from different people.
Grabber beat me to it!

Check out my pictures under my profile. Black is the best color. The happy medium with tint seems to be 35% on the front windows and 20% on the rear windows and back glass. Gives good nighttime visibility while still looking great.

Looks great

I recommend driving it for 2 to 3 months and then decide what you want to do.

No rush

I'm in St.louis as well, we should go for a cruise some time! I have the ford racing sport mufflers, BBK ceramic headers, BBK catted xpipe, GT/CS spoiler and air raid CAI on my '14. Getting stripes and tint put on in two weeks. I would probably recommend going with a nice set of Axlebacks first, Ford racing or Borla being my personal favorites.

Good color choice! For exhaust I'd go with the borla s-types, you will love them. Exterior mods the gt500 spoiler really changes the look of the car nicely.. As does some tinted windows. Good luck and enjoy.

Welcome and Congratulations!!! She's a beaut! My best advice just like b2673ad had said to would be to get comfortable and acclimated to the vehicle. Once you start to pick it apart there's a slew of aftermarket parts available for them! The first mod that I've always done on my Mustangs and what you'll see on some of the newer models would be picking up an Axleback Exhaust They're fairly inexpensive in comparison to what they we're being listed at years ago, are a breeze to install, and really turn heads!

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime or shoot us a call at 1-866-727-1266 and we're here to help!

FIrst thing I did was swap out the horrible factory stereo equipment, infintiy reference loudspeakers front and rear and a 10" bazooka bta1050D in the trunk. Followed that up with the Pypes Pype Bomb axle back exhaust which I absolutely love, then got my windows tinted. (All this was within my first month of ownership btw). I'm a big music guy, so the factory sound system took priority over everything else for me, I doubt it does for most others though.

+1 on upgrading the base model speakers. $200 and an afternoon makes a huge differance.

I put in used CAI & axleback which also sounds much better.

Enjoy the ride!
