By the way my mods are Mac ceramic shorty, airaid Cai, and borla touring. I wanted a little more sound since my shorty deepens the sound of my exhaust.

I found it worth it, it was the first thing I did to my exhaust, then the BBK Short Tubes and last was the Borla Touring A/B
Mine

I heard these x pipes will smoothen out your exhaust. Does it mean you're going to have a flat exhaust note - without the characteristic 'slight burble/rumble' borlas have on our V6?

I have single gt500 mufflers and they sound pretty close to borla imo. I also have been contemplating getting FRPP x pipe or high flow cats. I want my setup to be little louder/amplified than what it is right now, without any rasp and I would hate to lose the burble these guys have right now lol. Any suggestions?

Ps: sorry to threat jack haha

IF you mean the Deceleration Burble it might actually amplify it, the smoothed out part is more refinement under acceleration.

Actually both deceleration, and light acceleration/going up the hill burble. That's what I'm looking to amplify. My GT500 mufflers sound awesome under WOT - more of an exotic exhaust note. I'm just worried if it would get any rasp with an added x pipe?

No Rasp, the stock cats and resonators are still there, you basically take the hybrid X/H and turn it into a true X.

I just had the FR x-pipe installed yesterday. It really smoothed out the exhaust and took away any rasp and drone I have (Pypes pype bomb ABs and an Airaid CAI are the only things on it besides the x-pipe that would affect sound). It's not as loud as it was, which is good for me because the Pypes were obnoxious, it really deepened the sound up it sounds almost like a v8, once I put shorty headers on it will be PERFECT! I like the x-pipe, the best description is it cleaned up and "refined" the sound of my exhaust. Still just as loud but meaner at WOT. I recommend. I feel a little added performance in combo with the CAI and tune after installing the x-pipe than prior to install with just tune and CAI.

Perfect! Good your Pypes ain't obnoxiously loud no more, I had magna flow competitions..for 3 days. They're hedious, sounded like a 4 cylinder fart canon and the drone literally gave me migraines!

I wonder if this x pipe is going to quite down my gt500s too, they're quite mellow already lolol

Less rasp than what you currently have. Will cut out some drone if you have any. It deepened my exhaust note and quieted it down a little not obnoxiously loud anymore but a nice deep growl, almost like a v8 but a different note if that makes sense. Don't expect any power gains, although I may feel a little more down low torque... Can't say for sure, but I was happy with it. Just had it installed this past Friday.

I'm looking forward to how it's going to sound, since we both have similar exhaust setup. Minus the shorties.

What kind of change did you notice with tourings' exhaust note after you installed MAC headers? Did they become deeper/quiter? I'm just trying to replicate the sound in my head lol

It be nice if you can post a video of your current setup, and later with x pipe.

I know you cant see any gains with x pipe but would like the sound to change for more growl.. It is already deep with the touring and the mac headers... Will see on saturday..

Are there any advantages to this x-pipe other than sound?

Maybe some tiny gains a few hp at most. It will really help exhaust flow if you have headers which will help you gain more over all if you're tuned

It just cleans up the exhaust note and makes it deeper and more like a GT... Definitely changes the tone for the better! I couldn't be happier with mine. After 100 miles or a week of driving it "breaks in" and you really hear the difference a lot more, at least that's what happened to mine!

Definitely love the sound.. Heres a video right after the install.. Still on Jacks lol.. Watch "X pipe 2013 v6(1)" on YouTube
X pipe 2013 v6(1): http://youtu.be/HgLbpPZ4z78.. I'm curious if we have the same sound? I have more deep rumble now than before and it sounded like an exotic car. I don't know lol..

Hey shunc01, nice set up man! It seems your car has a dope exhaust note. However, the videos are not doing any justice. Could you please post a start up video maybe with a better camera?

Lol im torn between high flow cats and this x pipe to make my gt500s louder. From your video it seems your current setup (with x pipe) sounds like mine: sorta mellow with an exotic note at WOT loll.

I'm thinking on getting a shop to make me a h pipe that's and cut and clamp. So just like this mid pipe but instead of the x it will be a h so I can get it a little deeper

Thanks man I will try to do another video but I'm home now and I don't wanna piss off some neighbors lol.. If you wanna go a little louder then go with hi flow cats but this set up for me is perfect not too loud just nice mellow, rumble and if I wanted loud it's there just go 3000 rpm and up trust me it's loud.

Borla touring, airraid Cai, Mac ceramic shorty headers, frrp x pipe, 2010 gt500 rims, 35 % tint and more to come..

Lol im torn between high flow cats and this x pipe to make my gt500s louder. From your video it seems your current setup (with x pipe) sounds like mine: sorta mellow with an exotic note at WOT loll.

The x pipe will smooth your exhaust. Cut out the factory resonators and weld the x pipe in. This may be the sound your looking for
