Abnormal clutch clicking noises - is there a way to fix/lubricate it?
To start, this isn't the one faint click that you hear when you depress or the clutch, about halfway down which is normal. My clutch is making clicking noises when I release it very slowly (like when I'm in the engagement zone shifting). It also does it in neutral when the car is off and no load. If I release it just a little bit at a time it clicks with every movement.
My guess is that it's just one of the moving parts the needs to be lubricated, either one of the joints or springs or something. I looked and felt around up under the dash but I can't figure out where it's coming from.
Before I start spraying wd-40 on everything up there, does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this, or a possible solution.
Car is a 2014 v6 manual, 12,000 miles, never raced. The clutch operates just fine it's just a bit annoying. Thanks!
