If I am going to go on a stocker, I'd definitely do oil pump gears, the stock ones are a joke.

Did the Boss software require anything other than a reflash?

Yes they just wipe the pcm clean of the GT tune and load all the boss software, then we went from there.

It is, it's not needed though. We did it bc the GT software, looses signal after 8100 rpms.

After the cams we are planning on going to 8300-8500

Hey Rap, just out of curiosity: is this built stock 5.0 engine a better option than going with an aluminator crate engine? -performance/durability wise.

I will be upgrading to a gt next year, and would definitely be going FI route. I was considering trading/selling my stock motor ( $3.5k after driving for an year?), and using this money towards buying an aluminator.

Just depends on your goals bud
The aluminator is a good option also.

I went the route I did
1. bc the stock motor took a crap
2. Wanted diamond pistons
3. Higher compression.
4. Motor was built for a big shot. Ring gap etc was all set for a big hit

The goal is definitely going to be 900 rwhp /1000+ hp at the crank. But I wonder if stock manual transmission is good enough to handle such big power? I'm still researching these options just to get an idea what all will be needed to avoid a kaboom.

I will let you know here b4 the end of the year on what the mt-82 can handle.
I will be 900+ at the tires on the new nitrous setup.
