What my trip to the dealer for an oil change turned in to...

I went to the dealership today to get my first oil change of my 2014 v6. Unfortunately, they told me it would be a 2+ hour wait. I asked them if they had any openings for later today that I could come back for. Got an appointment for 3pm, great!

I pull out of the service area begin my trek across the dealership to get back on to the main road. As I turn the corner that passes by the front of the dealership, I catch a glimpse of an unfamiliar front end...

Naturally, I had to go investigate this oddity. I parked next to it, got out and started chatting with the rep about his creature.

It was the 2015 Mustang 4cyl Ecoboost Premium. I must say, that car is a whole new level of sexy in person. You can definitely tell this year is trying to capture a more international market. It isn't as wide as the 2014, 2 inches lower than the stock 2014, and has a whole new set of buttons to play with.

I personally cannot wait to test drive one of these. The rep told me that on his journey from Michigan, the rear suspension makes it a blast to drive. I was given the opportunity to sit in it and I must say... Those premium seats are the most comfortable things I have ever sat in.

As far as the dash goes, I appreciate the switch-style buttons they've included for traction control etc. It gives it that extra badassness over the plain buttons. I wasn't a big fan of the cupholders on the arm rest. I must prefer the clean look you can get on the earlier model by being able to close it all up and have one big long armrest at your disposal.

After all was said and done, I got the rep to start it up for me. It is nice and tame once it reaches idle... But let me tell you... Once he revved that thing, it sounded like a godly beast about to unleash itself on the streets. It was a symphony to my ears hearing what they managed to pull off out of that 4cyl when the ecoboost kicked in.

Overall, I love my car, but I will definitely be test driving the 2015 as soon as it is available. I am hoping it is still there when I return at 3pm to get some better pictures.

I'm just saying... Don't bash the looks until you actually see it in person. This thing is a beauty. Took some quick pics, but they were busy training the sales reps with it.

Doesn't look half bad! It still just is not my cup of tea.... I saw it and sat in it at the NYIAS months ago, and the back end just doesn't look right to me. I like it better than the 05-09 models. Could be worse, could be better, like I said, just not for me. I do like the headlights though!

Its a beautiful car, i love the way the back end looks. Front looks kinda exotic, not too sure how i feel about it yet. My only beef with it is my 2014 wont be the newest bodystyle

I'm not liking the rear. That black pony next to the red car looks better

I've seen it in person too and really get annoyed by certain people on this site who call it a "KOREAN GT." It doesn't...at all.

I should have washed my car before the pictures, lol. It was terribly dirty.

Here's the revs on the ecoboost for those who are interested.

(excuse the video being upside down. laziness)

I actually like the back end of the car. They were able to update the look without sacrificing the Mustangness of the car. But the front end is the same as the fusion, the Taurus, and perhaps all of the other 2015 fords. Pure laziness on ford's part. The headlights are too narrow. The inside is nice though. Just hate the front end. I don't know why Ford could do well on everything ales and just give up on trying on the front end.

The rear end is beautiful, the rest isn't that bad either. I prefer the 2014 but that car looks killer. As an Import buyer Ford is the only American brand I would consider. Nice work.

I've already priced an Ecoboost in Competition Orange with the Performance Pack.

If I decide to get one, that's what I'll be bringing home.

I dont know, for me it seems to be leaning towards future refining. When I heard the word mustang, the first image that came into my mind was a cobra, gone in 60 seconds, etc. It may be outdated on your screen but pull up to one of them and its a MOFO. The new mustang 2015 just seems like its trying to follow audi suit when they rolled out the LED headlights and then EVERYONE followed the look + the sleek styling (not for aerodynamics but elegance). My personal preference, I would rather go for a boxier mustang that just has insane HP than a refined, sleek mustang to appeal to the market. If I went this route, I would be on a G37 forum right about now but I am here because I went with my childhood dreamer *realistic* car and actually bought what I always wanted.

I love the interior but GOD DAMN that back is UGGGGGLY as hell.

I just cant stand the way the back looks!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: just read all the replies.. Its funny how everyone has different opinion. I actually dont mind the front i thinks its ok 7/10.

Interior is like 9/10

and back is literally 1/10 in my opinion. Those lights are hideous.

If they had put the 13-14 taillights, it would be much better. Interior is great for the price. The front, shouldn't be on a Mustang.

LOL. ..funny you say that. I used to think the 03-04 Tiburon side profile looked like a cross between a Mustang and an Eclipse.

Haha I have similar feelings, only I switch around your ratings and say 7/10 for the back and 1/10 for the front. I agree with interior.

My issue with the taillights and why I think they don't look like the old ones, is the lack of division between the segments. They just slanted the same red lense and it gives it a cheap look. If they'd taken the time to separate the segments with black dividers it would look a lot better. However, I think they did this to integrate reflectors into them. A bit of plasti-dip or some aftermarket bezels will probably fix it.

The pics above are misleading cause the '15 pictured is in the shade and the shadow hides the lack of division.
