4.75-4.9 is my avg time done on my old 18" AMR rims

I have some new lightweight rims that help me launch off the line quicker with some wheel spin but hardly any since its an auto with no high stall converter yet. My new 18" rims weigh 19.2lbs in the rear and 18.2lbs in the front. Compared to my old AMR rims which weighed around 24.5lbs in the rear and either 21.7 or 22lbs in the front cant remember which. Both sets of rims are 8" wide in front and 9" wide in the rear. With Continental DWS A/S tires.

I have yet to test my MPT 97/100 tune runs and only thing added since those runs above is Steeda Adjustable Upper Control Arm and Prothane Motor Mounts.
See guys and girls, like my pony 3.7's are running in the mid to high 4 second ranges 0-60 mph and all with nothing more than bolt on mods. Not bad for a n/a V6's. Lol

Not happy...

Best time: 5.6
- tires screech at 1st & 2nd gear
- using "S" mode while manually shifting gears @ 7000 rpm
- tried on Drive & S mode but rpm is going nuts! Unstable. ...

Set up: 73mm Throttle body, LT headers, off road x pipe, Magnaflow street mufflers, Ford racing 4.10 gears, 91 octane MPT race tune, 20' American racing wheels with 285/35/20 tires

How come you guys are running mid 4s with almost the same set up?

Ohhh, and the traction control was on... What would be the performance difference if it's off? Seems like traction control is always off in most of the videos in youtube...

Perhaps your 4:10 gears are causing you to just spin. Maybe a set of LCA's will help you plant your traction.

There is your issue. Turn your traction control off bro. Thats why your times are much higher. Your engine is cutting power to the wheels when your traction control is on and detects the tires loosing traction and spin

My car is far slower when my traction control is on that's why I always turn my TC off.

Any additional suggestions on the mods (aside from turbo / SC) to make it faster?

dubai you also have 20" rims those are going to slow you down more and yes always keep traction control off for performance. install some lower control arms those help with launching the car.

@will does it mean that 15' rims (or smaller rims in general) will make car launch faster?

Will research on the lower control arms... thanks!

Not necissarily...
15 would be great for a drag radial, but your handling would suffer.
Ideally, you want an 18 or 19 in wheel..
Forged wheels will also help, because they will weigh less, whereas you're 20 in wheels weigh a ton, so they'll slow you down a bit

I know there is a "traction control" . But what is "advance trac"? (The one which you can deactivate by pressing the traction control button twice? Or by long pressing in 5 sec?

What does it do?

Stability and Traction control together are "advancetrac". I rarely drive with advancetrac off, but usually put it in sport mode (TC off and reduced stability control) every time I get in the car.

Advancetrac is the one where you have to be stopped, brake to the floor, and hold for 5 seconds to turn off.

Yes, but I think the base V6 doesn't have sport mode TC.

Sport mode helped me. I was running a 4.8- 5.2 0-60( slow as **** in a 5.0) and with sport I ran a 4.6-4.9 consistently. Street tires and stock suspension. I think the temp was 69 ish, not sure about humidity.

I thought the tunes doesn't work on S mode? Getting 5.3s now with my revised MPT tune on Drive (with a s**t load of stuff in the trunk).

Now my lund racing needs to be checked but I just can't sort out my data log....

A tune will not affect the shifting in sport mode.. you still get the power gains and throttle respone ect. When in sport or select shift mode.

I just put the peddle down, don't floor it, but very quickly press it down. If I floor it, I get wheel spin like crazy.

Even with the spin I get in sport TC, my slowest has been a 5.3.

So which mode is more beneficial for our 0-60 time?

- traction control off on DRIVE?

OR

- advancetrac off on S?

I've noticed better on S, but I'm not sure.

Dubai, just want to make sure you didn't miss that mustangz has a 5.0. What he's saying about D/S and traction control still apply, but just saying you won't get sub 5 second 0-60 on stock like he is.

Actually I missed it out when he first mentioned his time. Signature does not show if viewed through the phone app. Saw it few mins after in the main site.

Was starting to scratch my head and telling myself that there is something wrong with my car! Hahaha
