Why do you have metal shavings in your exhaust?

If you drag a strong magnet on the outside of the tube, shouldn't the metal shavings follow?

take off your intake filter and run the engine backwards.....

I will say I doubt you'll get them out...they are either in the cat or mufflers if they exist at all.

I've been thinking of contacting some friends of mine that own a muffler shop and pricing a custom x-pipe, but I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to just buy a bolt on. I assume for you it was cheaper?
