O/R Xpipe vs O/R Hpipe

I'm planning on getting an O/R pipe from Lethal Performance for my 14' Mustang next month. I don't know which one will get more gains. I don't care about the price or sounds. Just gains lol.

My current mods are: Bama 93R tune, BBK TB, Airaid CAI, and 4.10 gears.

I think the x pipe will have more gains. Be warned it will most likely get very raspy.

X pipes are known to scavenge better than a h pipe and result in better gains.

An X pipe will generally net higher gains by a few HP!

OP-Just as everyone's saying in here the X is going to flow somewhat better but it's going to produce a higher pitched, raspy, metallic note. The H will give a lot more "thick" muscular sound. At the end of the day it's down to personal preference and some of this can actually be altered depending on the axleback you're running.

^^^^This! I've been in an employees car that went O/R and had muffler delete and it was pretty "barky"!

I've seen dyno's out there and it's a negligible difference. We're talking just a few hp here!

An X was worth 3-4 dyno proven horsepower over an H on a GT... i can imagine the difference on a 3.7 will be even less so. I'd be ok giving up the very marginal HP difference for a very appreciable sound difference.

The difference is so minimal I went with H off road. Sounds very cool. more rumble and less raspy. I have a V8 but heard on a sixxer too. Sounds more muscle car ish, lol

I will be getting the lethal h pipe myself. I'm going more for sound than performance in this case. I personally hate so much rasp from the x pipe. I will probably add resonators too

I have Roush axle backs and I am quite concerned about the noise/tone difference an H pipe will have. I know currently I have a loud setup, but I'm looking for some gains and don't really care how loud it gets 😊

Noone will ever notice the gains from X vs. H. As for noise I think the X is louder as it is a higher pitch and raspier. You should go to Youtube for some examples to listen to. They are on there, mine is. removing the cars is where you will really see the power gains. You do have a tuner right? you will need a tune if you remove the cats.

Ditto what everyone is saying. No noticable gains between the two to really make a difference. It's really about sound. I went with a GT H pipe myself. However i kept my cats. Sounded great after breaking it in.
After I installed shorties the car has a much more burly sound, I'm really happy with the combo.
