A stock focus St runs 14.6 1/4, not to bad at all for a little four banger.

2013 3.7 Manual Candy apple red metallic,
GT 500 stripes, painted side mirror covers, GT 500 spoiler, 2010 GT premium wheels with Pirelli P-zero tires, upper and lower front billet grille, Barton shifter bracket, Airaid Cold air intake, S.R lowering springs, J&M adjustable panhard bar, Boss 302 strut tower brace, 3.73 ford racing gears, Bama tuned, BBK shorty headers, Roush Axel backs.

Not necessarily... Depends on how good his friend can launch his ST... Stock times can vary wildly by driver... the ST can be very finicky to launch... i know i had one... Stock time range from mid-14s to high 13s...

Here is the stock dyno on my ST...

I think the closest one is up in West Palm Beach...but I may be wrong.

The mustang feels like it pulls harder because it probably has more torque than the ST, as expected. I bet the torque curve is a little flatter for the v6 too. However, it may be a closer race than you think. Bench racing is no fun though. The only way to know is to go to the track.

The V6 has less torque and the curve is not flatter. Completely the opposite of what you are saying. Usually with turbos they hit early and have flat torque curves giving you the feeling they are really moving out.

There is a track called County line which is a 1/8 a lot closer to Miami.

Oh I didn't know County line closed down. I haven't really taken the fox out in a few weeks with all the rain. Is homestead open? If not it looks like WPB.

And with the amount of traffic that I drive every day and then I do some road trips cruising at 80 or some more it looks like I will go with some 3.55. I think that is a happy medium as I took a ride in a car with 3.31 and it felt nice but it was stock.

Ya the ST has more trq and sooner than the V6...and from the dyno it looks like it has very similar HP as well... :-/
I'd say get some higher gears...it would be too close with 2.73

Be sure he knows how to drive that ST

With the front wheel drive and a lot of power it is easy for someone not used to a FWD car to lose control when wide open standing start acceleration. The Torque steer is what the Focus ST driver has to contend with. Fine if he knows about it. It takes getting used to and it has put a few cars in a ditch.
You sure don't want him getting rattled while next to your Mustang.
When you run him make sure your at the Drag strip. ( Nice & wide)

The dyno on torque for this ST says 282. K&N Dynoed the V6 at 288. The ST is a lighter car. It's going to be a drivers race.

The 11-14 3.7 has 280 torque and that's not even to the wheels. All my bolt on mods and tune still only have 276 rwtq. Wtf. Lol

That's the power of forced induction. It will be difficult to put 288 to the rear tire NA in our 3.7's
