Motorcraft filter #???

I just did my first oil change. I went and got the correct Motorcraft filter. But when I took off the factory filter it is about 3/4 of an inch longer than the one I bought. So I double checked and I have the right MC filter. So what is the MC # of the longer factory filter????

Where did you buy the filter ?????????????????

I'm sure you will be fine because Ford does not actually make the Filters. They probably have two or three manufactures making them. That is the reason for the slight difference. The filter you bought is fine.

Mine came with the FL-500, 1st time I went to my local dealer I got FL-820 the 820's are slightly larger. As you all know bigger is better. From what I remember the specs are close enough I kept running the 820.
