Some muscle cars from the 70's and 80's had extremely low power to give them better fuel economy, this was the only way they could achieve better fuel efficiency. For example, V8 camaro's had around or less than 200 HP. Given that your V6 stang already has 305 HP and good fuel economy, just think what a tune to give way less power could do. Not sure if this is possible though, you would have to contact one of the companies that makes tunes and you would need to purchase a tuner. If this is possible to do, I think you can get much better fuel economy.

Well, in 2012 I traded my 05 Mustang v6 and my F-150 for a Honda Pilot for my wife (her first brand new vehicle ever - and she was 34) and I decided on something cheap and economical - a new Honda Civic. Well, that lasted for 800 miles, and then I traded the Civic for a 2010 v6 premium (grabber blue). Had that one for 5 months or so then decided that I wanted a GT. Got an 07 GT manual - black. Drove that for about 6 months and then decided that I wanted a 14 GT premium - also black. After driving that for a few months, I gave up trying to keep it looking nice. I was so sick and tired of spending a couple of hours on it only to have it looking like hell a few days later. Then, the $600 a month car payment started bothering me too. I should have just traded it in on a different color, but I decided to get something cheaper and more economical (sound familiar?), so I got a 14 Honda Accord. Really nice car, but I really missed driving a Mustang. So, I traded that for a base v6 Race Red. Just got that three weeks ago this coming up Friday. No more trading (it's actually 5 Mustangs, not 4 since 2012). I'm paying it off this month and not worrying about car payments any longer. I've wasted a lot of money since 2012, I'm done.
Holy crap! Lol. Glad you finally settled.

Once again, my wife said the same thing. I find it odd that I've enjoyed my V6s more than my GTs. Not that I wouldn't ever want another GT, but I really like the 3.7.

I wish I could just trade around and just pay off my car like that.. 😔 one day lol. Definitely saving for a small daily. But also want the new GT. Saw it in person, looks so sick to me.

If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't. I definitely wasted quite a bit of money doing it this way. Not something that I would recommend.

Yep, and the modding has begun - albeit very small at first.

I love them. Got them welded in and still came out under 400 for parts and install. It is deep and loud but quiets down and no resonance when cruising. Delta flow technology is awesome. I will be getting a lethal off-road h pipe to add and I know it's gonna be even better. I'll be throwing resonators in as well at that point as I know the rasp well get pretty bad once I do that. But I've heard it in person and it sounds so mean.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, but I'm glad you're happy with the 3.7.

I may get **** for this, but I don't care. I recently had an epiphany about maybe owning an older GT, albeit they would be cheaper. Maybe an 07' or older. I am fully aware that my current one is faster than most older model GT's, but a GT is all I ever wanted. I've missed the sound, and the potential is just as limitless as my current one. If I could say snag one a decent price, with low miles and in good shape, I'd be happy.

What part of the country are you in? I've seen a few really low mileage 2007 GTs.
