launch control / 2 step rev limiter

Hey guys! Since our v6 doesn't come up with a launch control, what's our option to achieve the same effect?

Has anyone tried Msd Launch Control 2 Step Rev Limiter? any other options?

Will it work on our v6?

just thought that this will help us a lot on our 0-60 runs...

(apologies if this has been discussed in the past)

2 step will only work if you have some sticky tires. Stock tires, don't bother.

Launch control is for people who can't drive.

If your car is a manual, you already have launch control, if it's an auto, put an appropriate stall in it.

NT05 soon...

But is there a specific model for a 2014 v6? Or is it generic?

Ooohhh, that's why the shelby, boss and even the gtr has one... made for those kind of people perhaps?

The Shelby's launch control doesn't do much. It softens the rear suspension, holds a constant RPM (manually adjustable) until the clutch is released and then uses track mode traction control. I've driven one and I can generally get the car off the line better than the launch control can. However, the launch control generally makes for consistent times as the 13/14 Shelby loves to smoke the tires.

If you read timed tests or talk to people who actually own them and know how to drive a car with that kind of power, they are faster doing it all themselves vs using the launch control.

Launch control on the GTR is something entirely different. It allows for the car to be launched on boost, while actively changing the stiffness on the suspension while it detects wheel slip on each tire and adjusts power output to each wheel independently. That system is what makes the GTR one of the fastest cars to come off the line. No human would ever be able to defeat it, simply because the car does all the work for you.

It's a selling point. Also makes the car slower 0-60 vs someone who actually knows how to drive.

2 step is generally better for people that have a supercharger or turbo. I have seen a youtube video of a 12 or 13+ GT500 with an actual 2 step his launches off the line were consistent and he took off like a bat out of hell. He also got crowned Street King for the track event that day. The second fastest car of that event was a Honda CRX that had a mean turbo i think the crx had around 550 or 650hp. Those crx's are super light maybe 2000-2300lbs or less??

So basically it can't be used in a v6 w/o turbo?

If you want consistant launches and have sticky tires, a 2 step works well.

2 Step Rev Limiter

I got my tuner unlocked, and set a rev limiter in neutral to 2500 RPM. Launched it a couple times last night to ensure it worked, and I love it. Sounds pretty dope too, but probably isnt good to be used on the car frequently (I cant figure out if it gas or ignition cutting).
Whole process took only a couple of seconds, just changed the setting on my live wire and done.

I honestly don't know. I was commenting about 2 steps in general.

Typically a 2 step cuts the ignition not fuel.
