On TrueCar.com the price for a brand new base 2014 v6 in ohio is in the 18's. Here in Texas it's in the high 17's.

Keep in mind those numbers are sticker price.....Don't pay sticker price. Ever.

You can get so close to that for a brand new car, with warranty, with 60 month low interest financing if you want, that will be worth more in a few years.

However, what you should really do is go on Labor Day (the last day of the car sales fiscal year), or wait until after the 2015 comes out and you can pick up a 14 for probably the price that you are looking at for the used one, maybe lower. Waiting is hard, but with the end of the year and the 15 coming out, it's a perfect storm in your favor.

I would agree here if you decide you want to wait. Once the 2015s hit the lot, they'll be chomping at the bit to liquidate old inventory to meet the demand for the new style.

It's really up to you man. What I would do is go test drive that one. Then test drive a '14 if they have one on the lot with at least similar options. See which one you like more. In the end, it's your choice.

In a month or two yes. Also, when the 15's come out and are actually available, the used market will be flooded with 2011-2014 mustangs.. V6, V8, all options, because people who want to upgrade will be trading them in like crazy! The new 2014 inventory will be going dirt cheap, and the used market will be huge and everything will be working in your favor as far as buying a car goes. If you can wait, I would do so. You will have so many options in a few short months.

However, I know how it goes, I bought my mustang on an impulse last year when I took a 2012 focus in to get serviced on labor day and they offered me $18500 for a new 2014 to meet their sales numbers. Now I'm drooling over the 15 but I'm not going to pay 26,000 for an upgraded suspension while I have a warranty.

If you can get a new one for $17k jump on it fast. Too many people try to have their cake and eat it too with haggling and "working" the dealer. The fact is there is always 1-3 cars a dealer is willing to basically give away or "lose" to entice people to shop. If your one of the lucky ones to get one of those "losers" then stick with it and get it. However the body style has already changed since 2011 and it's going to be be completely revamped for 2015, if you can wait then get one after the 2015s have hit the streets.

Of course they do, unless you have that kind of cash in-hand, you're making a very large investment. If you don't work the dealer, they'll work you. $1500-2000 may not sound like much but with interest over time, it adds up.

The dealer will never sell a car at a loss. Personally, having dealt with shady salesman, I have almost no sympathy. I know all aren't like that but it comes from my experiences.

It's possible. IDK man, we're not from your area or have seen the cars and won't be doing the talking to the dealership. Every purchase is different. Hopefully it all works out and you get a good price.

Its more than just the price of the car. It's the financing, how much your putting down, how upside-down you are on your trade, how much your trade is worth, your credit score. There are so many factors that go into buying a car and yet everybody focuses on just one and thinks that they can just talk the dealer into giving you a car because you want it.
And don't even get me started with dirty salesman....

Yeah it has perelis lol if I can get them down to 15,000 on the white one I will highly consider doing that. The carfax said they bought it at auction so I know they didn't pay much for it

Also if you go through your own bank with the auto loan you will more than likely get a better Apr. and then you can really get the dealership to bring it to a price point you want.

Id say that's a good deal as well. I received my 2012 base v6 with the exhaust, intake, rims and 11" wide back tires for 18k out the door with 20k miles on it. Of course it helps when your friend works at a car auction and knows how much they bought it for.

Well mine was bought for 14.8k so I'm sure anywhere from 13.5-15.5k would be profitable for the dealerships

It gets that way if you don't drive it for a few days. I take it it's been there a few weeks

Cars rust pretty quickly. Rotors especially. It's the constant motion and heat that keeps them relatively rust free.

Tuner....best bang for performance. Exterior is always a personal opinion but you could start by blacking out side markers and grill. Or even plasti-dip your wheels!

You can also stretch a new car loan out longer. If you can get the low teaser rate it would be worth it.
