On a side note: were on e85 when this problem occured? What sort of driveability issues are you experiencing? Did you notice same thing on pump gas?

Okay i just read your review on Facebook; it's absolutely retarded how your tuner treated you! What's the state of your motor and transmission now? Gosh its not even my car, yet I can feel what you must be going through!

I wish, unfortunately I signed a waiver.
I will consult an attorney to see what I can get done.

That waiver is going to be the deathbell to any legal actions. They make you sign those for a reason.

You could still fight it, but it's going to cost you a LOT more than $600 to do so.

That waiver is talking about work performed without negligence. You do have a case, even though you signed that. That is assuming the work done is performed correctly.

This. I'm sure you have your datalogs and your your un-biased third party review of it. Plus the fact your tuner bluntly refused to accept his mistake regarding MAF, misfires, and transmission tuning. Your waiver doesn't meant shiet at this point, since you gave him data which clearly showed his flaw.

Take him to small claims court (I wonder if you can do judge Judy or judge Jo brown type thing), and bring a third party tuner for an expert opinion. I'm more than certain you will receive cost of repairs/new tranny n engine from Hensons money.

it's going to cost me about 1600 to replace my damaged motor. and I've wasted about 1000 with this guy. so if costs break more than 2500, I'd be happy.
but IDK what legal actions I can take.
I will try to set up some consultation with a lawyer

Are you going to replace your motor yourself or going to pay a shop to do it? Cuz that's at least another grand for re and re.

To take old engine out, put new engine back, and do all wiring/getting your car ready to go.

Man that just sucks. You trust this guy to help you make your car perform better and it goes to shot.
However I'm sure it's been said already but you're dancing a fine line with the devil on this entire build. You installed a turbo on a car not equipped for it and now it's having issues. It's a part of tuning and car modding. You're going to have issues and things will break and you can only blame yourself. In this case however you trusted a "professional" to ensure certain safety measures and he failed to do so. As a result you ran your car not knowing of the issues and it's in need of replacement.

On a side note, why don't you just rebuild the motor? Is it just cheeper for you to replace with a stock motor again?

You can get a fairly low mileage 3.7L engine for around $ 1300, so depending on the damage, yes it's cheaper.

That's not bad considering trying to buy upper and lower intake manifolds will run you $200 alone off a forum.

I'm going to replace the stock motor and that way I can build a motor with no downtime.

Also another question, are you going to put the turbo kit on the new motor? Or wait until the built one is done

That's what I interpreted based on what he said, but yes, the wording is kinda ambiguous. I guess the damage to the engine must not have been catastrophic.

Congrats on getting the partial refund, alrefire. Still a crappy situation, but it's better than nothing.
