2014 V6 Base Cluster to Premium Cluster

Well, I just traded out my boring base cluster with a premium cluster. I absolutely love it. Deerslayer started a thread in the GT section on how to do this. It is very detailed and not too difficult to do. Here's the link: How to install a 2013 Mustang Track Apps Instrument Cluster in a 2013 Base model GT

Attached are pics of the old and then the new. Track Apps works, MYColor works...

That looks amazing! Is the process the exact same as the GT swap?

Yes it is. You just have to get a vin from a premium mustang v6 to use for the ASBUILT data. Very easy find if you use Cars.com or Autotrader.com. The first vin that I used for the ASBUILT data was from a premium with the backup assist, so when I put my car in reverse, the assist graphic came up on the cluster. I changed that this morning with a different vin. Literally a 2 minute fix.

Hmm, wonder if this could work in a 2011. I would imagine there would be more to do to make it work though.

There's a thread on allfordmustangs I think that has a write up for 2010-2012. More involved but looks doable.

I never see these available. What's the going rate for them? I saw someone say $160, but that seems way too good to be true.

I paid $646.00 for mine. $200 is the core charge, and I'll get that refunded if I send my base cluster back to them. I think I'm going to keep it though. The steering wheel switch was around $20, and the vcm tool was $193.00 with shipping (shipping was $27.00). Fortunately there are a lot more uses for the vcm tool than this conversion. Still, quite an expensive mod - around $650 total if you send your base cluster back, and come to find out, you can get the vcm tool cheaper than what I paid.

Could you please give us the link? Or PM it to me if that's against the rules of this forum (or just not cool). Thanks!
