Header Stud help - Mustang Evolution

Header Stud help

Hello everyone,

So i was installing my BBK long tube headers last night and lost 2 studs some where, is there any where online to order these or does anyone knows the specs on them so i can go to the auto parts store? i called the ford dealership and they do not have any.

Thread one nut onto an existing stud backwards (flat side facing away from the engine), and then thread another one forwards (normal orientation like you were tightening it) so the flat side are touching.


Tighten both nuts against each other (you will need box wrenches for this), and then loosen the stud using the rear (backwards) nut. you can then remove the stud and take it to the auto parts store to compare.

Or use a 5mm wrench to remove a stud after removing the nut and go to the local parts store.

Is there spot on the stud for a wrench? I havent actually looked at them, thats just a trick we have always used, but your way sounds easier in this particular case haha.

Yes, they have a 5 mm head on them

Ford sells them, that's where I bought mine only problem is they're $5 each

O'Reilly has them for cheaper. You get like 6 for 15
