I had the MRT catted H-Pipe... Overall i liked it... picked up a little low end umph... seen a very nice gain in the MPG department... however it add a fair amount of rasp. Took about 2,000 miles for the H pipe to mellow out...
I then had MRT install some BBK shorties... went to install the MRT H pipe back on the car and it wouldn't fit.... basically the BBK and the MRT are both different enough from stock that they are incompatible... The day we were doing the install I ran out of time so I had them just reinstall my stock mid-pipe...
While i don't have actual dyno data, based on my 0-60 and 1/4 mile testing, it seem that the BBK/stock mid-pipe combo has about the same performance gains as the stock manifold/MRT H-pipe combo... Putting the stock mid-pipe back in did see my MPG drop back to pre MRT H-pipe levels.
Now... here's the thing... I really love the BBK shorty / stock mid-pipe combo when it comes to sound! I'm also running the MRT Interceptor axle-backs. I'm so satisfied with the exhaust note that at this point I really have no plans to put the MRT H-pipe back in.....
