Cool Which one for better "butt-dyno" gains?

Which one would produce more noticeable butt dyne gains tune or gears(from stock to 3.55 or 3.73).

I also seem to notice more whining complaints with the 3.73; should I be worried?

Gears. Go with Ford Racing gears, and only those.

Well you should get a tune to correct the speedo, so in that sense... GEARS (both)

Gears, but if you do 3.55s or 3.73s you'll need a tune anyways, so both. And as stated, only go with ford racing gears. Also are you auto or manual?

If you're getting a gear over 3.31 you're going to need a custom time anyway. If you change from 2.73 to 3.31 you're still going to need to get it reprogrammed, but a dealership can do that.

Gears are way more expensive.

What I'm doing is I got the tuner first. Then I'm going to get the gears later on so it's not like I'm completely draining my wallet in one fell swoop.

I'm more than happy with just the tune right now. Once that happiness wears off I'll dive into gears.

Definitely get the tuner first. It paves the way for all future mods and will allow you to tune for them so you get the most out of what you put in.

Plus it's just handy to have in case of any DTC codes or issues.

Just an FYI, my Ford racing dealer was able to up the Tire/Wheel Revs per mile on the factory 3.31 tune to match very close on my 3.55 gear I put in. Yes Gears will give more butt-dyno then the tune.

Here you go, finally a way to measure

Butt Dyno - $529.95 : KaleCoAuto.com, Your home for the rare, unusual, and hard to find auto parts.

Butt Dyno
$529.95
Just install a great mod like a cold air intake? Electric supercharger? Big Muffler? Magnetic fuel line ionizer? Awesome wing? Are you getting no respect from your friends for your newly found power? As we all know, these are high end and sophisticated modifications. Some may be TOO sophisticated to actually show up on a traditional dyno. So here we have: The Butt Dyno. Simply place it in the seat, and drive fast, weaving in and out of traffic. (On a race course, of course.) Now you can tell your friends with confidence "That oil-saturated air filter gave me 20 horses!"

(and obviously just a joke)

They have the highest quality blinker fluid I've ever used, and their muffler bearings are second to none!

I would say for the largest overall improvement on the butt side shoot for the 3.73 and Tuner Combo Kit as they're going to follow each other closely if purchased individually. Ford Racing makes a solid set and I would highly recommend them as well. In regards to the whining if they're installed correctly there shouldn't be any singin' in the rear! There's very little room for error and if you're mechanically inclined you can do it but if you're uncertain I would let a shop have at it.

Vig,

You should really check out their Cross Drilled Brake Lines--They really helped my '08 "stop" better
