Saw this yesterday too! Am i the only one who thinks that the RTR deckled panel looks funny? I understand the fake gas cap is...fake, but the back just looks empty without it. I wonder how difficult the installation would be?

They're not available... You're not going to be able to buy one.

I have one on order from Blow By Racing and RTR is going to contact me when I can buy one as well. My dumb a$$ luck I will end up with two... but that should be easy to get rid of.

The install isn't hard but it does require cutting a hole in the trunk where the bulge is for the faux cap now. I will post when I get mine done. Going to matte black it and a shiny black pony in the center. i think it looks good on it's own, way better than stock. That said I think will look better with the Pony

I wanted this until I found out its non reversible. The ribbed CDC panel is the only one I've found not requiring cutting. My problem with it is I really want the RTR license surround with the vents, but the CDC rear panel matches the style of the original ford part. I don't know how it would look together - personally I think smooth goes better with the style of these ponys. Anyone found a smooth panel that doesn't make you cut? I want to put a tri-bar emblem offset to the right vs. the faux gas cap.

Actually I wish Ford had just made it a functional gas cap like my '65 had - but I imagine there is some safety risk etc reason why they didn't.

Yeah, I don't think the gas tank being in the back would be easy under the safety regs. Would have been sweet if they did.

Anything smooth will require cutting. Under the deck lid is a raised section in the metal that the faux cap mounts to. Trufiber offers one that is smooth across the back and no cutting but that is because it is raised across the entire back

It's carbon fiber though right? I just want a black one like my car has now - guess I could paint but then I pay all that for CF and not show it off!

Yes, it is. for the 13-14 the only 3 I know of right now are:

MMD - ribbed to match license surround, keeps fau cap
RTR - requires cutting
Trufiber - sticks out.

If you really wanted to go all out could get the sheet metal work done and trunk painted. I would love to but too much cash for me.

RTR looks sooooo good. If you're worried about the cutting, get a body shop to do it for you for cheap. Worst case scenario, you can buy a new trunklid.
