Horrible 60ft times any ideas?

So took my car to Wild Horse Pass raceway here in AZ, Got about 3 passes in 14.9, 14.8, 14.7 all in the 98mph range. One thing i noticed was horrible 60ft times of 2.5 to 2.4 any ideas on what to upgrade to getting that time down? I have the Airaid cold air, and am wating for the Bama tune to come in. Also its a base model so its the 2.73 with a 6 speed standard

How were u launching the car? Dumping or slipping? What rpms where u leaving at? Tires & suspension are what gonna help u drop ur 60' but u should be able to lower it a lot by just practicing!

Upper 14's near 100 mph with poor 60' sounds like tons of wheel spin. For better 60' times I was gonna say launch harder at around 3000rpm, but after seeing the ET with that high MPH means that would probably makes things worse.

Im leaving at 3000rpm and dumping it almost feels like its bogging real hard then it'll pick up and go i tried at 4k but def blew the tires off. oh and trac control is off. i think i might give slipping a shot.

Don't dump it. Release clutch at a rate that keeps the RPM's from failing as you nail the gas.

For comparison, stock V6 manual PP 3.31.

60' = 2.10 harder launch, more spin
1/4 = 14.05 @ 100.51 (high MPH due to excessive wheel spin)

60' = 2.10 soft launch, slight spin,
1/4 = 14.18 @ 88.80

What's up with the " bottlefed" name?

Tires, and suspension. What tires are you running

Tires. A slick is best for a manual. But being a stock v6 you can get away with a drag radial. Nto5r or mickey ET street radial 2 ' s.

And uca and Lca's

My car was identical to what you have and run. Slide that clutch just a bit from 3000. You'll get 14.40s eventually. Work on the 60', the rest will come. I went to 3.55 gears to get into 4th gear before the stripe and an aluminum driveshaft and now run 14 flat. Wheel hop is serious with street tires at the track. I use a Diablosport tuner and have only used the 87 street tune. The mileage is fantastic. I'm in Prescott.

Don't go near the water

Keep your street tires dry. Don't do a burn-out at all. Drop the rear pressure to around 28/30 LBS and increase the fronts to maximum it say's on the sidewall.
When the light turns green you just need to get the car moving before jamming the throttle down. This does take practice but doing things properly will get you into the 13's.
I have 18 inch Pirelli's on my V6 3.7 2012 automatic and using this technique I did a 13.3. Of course I live in Florida at sea level and it was at night when it is a little cooler.
Shifting the Manual transmission is not as fast as the automatic but can be done pretty good with practice.
The tire spin is probably what is keeping you into the 14's. The 273 rear is not really bad on the automatic but it is crap on a manual for drag racing.

I hope you had fun at the track! Your 60ft definitely could use some work. Once you get that time down you'll see huge improvements in our 1/4 mile time. 1 tenth off of your 60ft usually translates to 2 tenths up top!

What tires are you running? What Gears are you running? What suspension etc.. If all of this is stock then that is definitely your problem! A set of Upper/Lower Control Arms, 3.73 Gears and a sticky tire will do wonders. Your Bama tune will also help improve power, throttle response, driveability etc.. Your car has a lot of room left in her! We went 13.7 with our 2011 V6 and the only mod was a Bama tune.

Hope this helps! Let us know what we can do to hep.

Before you do any mods get used to your car... as you need to learn how to launch it... my first run with my car 2.73 manual I did 14.7 next run I drop it to 14 then I got to 13.7 I started dumping the clutch at 3k rpm and let the tires catch before fully pressing it... I drop my tire preasure to 25. My 60 was 2.1 usually
