Thumbs up Anyone use oil additives here?

I'm interested in ordering "Ceratec" by LubroMoly for my stang. My family has always used lubromoly's MOS2 friction modifier for our cars and it has worked AWESOME but looking to upgrade..Anyone with experience?

Just buy good oil to begin with, that way you know its formulated to work. Define "it has worked awesome?"

I think additives are gimmicks. A good synthetic oil is plenty.

I agree, define awesome. Do you have a vehicle with a million miles on it from using an additive?

Snake oil in my humble opinion.

Oils today are really good. Way better than they were even 20 years ago.

This. Plus an oil separator never hurts. Not at all necessary, but I like it for the peace of mind for that much more engine life.

While most seem like snake oils, lubromoly is a very well established company and their friction modifier really smooth/quiets things down and increases my mpg a bit in my bmw v8....father uses it to on his car with 400,000 miles as well....

Unless its got a UOA saying its better (and even then, that depends on the oil you're adding it to) i'm not really sold. I dont expect everyone to run amsoil like i do, but i'm a believer that theres no substitute for a quality oil.

I run Royal Purple and filter. I like it much better than the Motorcraft stuff. I still don't buy into the "HPS" RP with the sulphur additives though.

Good oil needs """NOTHING"""

Use a good quality oil and keep the crap out of it on these newer engines. They are not needed and all they do is gum up some very small (TINY) oil passages. They may have been OK in the good old days but not now.
Any oil with this symbol on the can or bottle is what to use providing you use the correct viscosity.

The 3.7 V6 uses 5W-20 and Semi-Synthetic or Full Synthetic is what to use.(Your Choice)
5W-20 is what the engine is supposed to have. NOT 5W-30 or 10W-40 but 5W-20 in the 3.7 V6 engine.
When you start dumping crap in the motor oil you are really messing up the viscosity and it is not a good thing to do.

This would be best for just plain speed

CASTER OIL

Put this in instead of motor oil and you can run the poop out of your Mustang.
