Engine Replacement Question

Lets just say somewhere down the road I decide to buy a used 3.7l engine with low miles once mine gets over 150k. Are the 3.7l engines the same in the f150 as the mustang. or do i need once specifically from a mustang?

I know right? Might just get one to learn how to work on and eventually get forged internals and turbo kit installed all on that newer engine with less than 20k instead of the one in it now. Cause by the time I kit turbo kit and forged internals I'll have over 100k miles on this engine

Yea and just store it in the garage til the old one runs out of juice..than just swap it in lol . It would be cool to drop one into a very light weight car like a brz or s2000 . That would be a quick car!!
