GT grille with foglights..why so expensive!?

i have a question. i'm pretty new to mods and whatnot since this is my first actual car i cared about, but why in the hell is a piece of plastic with two foglights $700 on american muscle?

like, i just don't understand. it's plastic. and they're foglights. and it costs $700.

i'd love to add that GT look to the front of the car, but when axlebacks cost less than a damn plastic grille insert, i really have to question if maybe i'm just not looking in the right places.

anyone have experience adding the GT style foglights for MUCH less than that price?!

Your best bet is to piece it out and buy the parts separately ... no way would i pay $700 dollars for a grille "non sense"

AM has competitive pricing to other mustang suppliers so if their selling the GT front fasica for 700 dollars then no way another is gonna sell same one for $400. Since your new to modding, welcome to the pricing world mods. Its freaking crazy stupid but modding many times becomes a drug like crack cocaine, heroin , alcohol, tobacco etc. Basically modding is a poision that kills your bank account and many times ones marriage or relationship. Ha ha ha ha.

Just wait till you see other prices on different aftermarket apperence mods and performance mods. There freaking crazy man. 6-7 k for superchargers. A hunk of small metal and a belt that shoves a bunch of air in the engine and that ***** is 6-7k. F that stuff man. Ha ha ha ha. Crazy crazy stuff. 😎

Yeah, you'll see that AM prices are generally the lowest or will price match. It's an expensive hobby but the best American hobby there is!

It's not the plastic grille that's the expensive part. Believe it or not the most expensive piece to the whole package is the wiring. You can probably find the upper grille for about $100. The fog lights alone usually run $100-$150. The wiring harness will run you upwards of $200. I realize this doesn't come out to $700, but it also doesn't include the lower grille which would probably run you $80. After some time I finally decided I really didn't like the looks of the grille lights on the newer mustangs as they look too big. To me they just don't look right. I ended up going with the lower fascia lights which ended up costing me about $300.

Well here is my V6 grill on my V6 that was made for a V6 and I personally think it looks better than the Gt grill. OP, I'm not a fan of the fog lights but just personal taste. If someone was going to spend money replacing the factory V6 grill the Gt front fasica would not be even a thought. There are too many other nicer front fasica's out there and no way to the GT grill. 🙆

I'm thinking about putting off road lights behind a black billet grill. I'd still keep my factory fogs in tact.

nice cars, guys! I just can't justify spending that much to put in foglights.. they look cool and sure they'll help at night, but those hids are pretty damn bright lol so I don't really see a need for it.. i just like the looks. and if I were to put them in the bottom, yeah they look cool there too but it's still pretty damn expensive. I'd rather spend that money on some borla s-types, i think.

I think what brings the price of a lot of the kits are the OEM parts (OEM grills, switches, etc) If you look at some of the cheaper kits it says "OEM GT take off" which I would assume would mean its been used but in like new condition.

[QUOTE=Repth;2078726]Nobody looks at his car and thinks "oh that car must be a GT, it has fog lights in the grille!" Sounds like you have some inferiority complex. If anyone is interested in buying my GT grille with fogs for their V6, PM me because I don't like the way it looks.

And it's not like this guy is slapping V8 or 5.0 badges all over his car.
Quote:

Omg bro! Ha ha ha ha ha. Even you are busting on Toydos about his Gt badges all over his V6. We all told him to take those silly Gt badges off his V6. I mean Toydos has this beautiful 3.7 and marked it up with Gt badges because he was and is embarrased he owns a V6 model.

One thing to stick on those silly looking fog light fasica that the Gt model has but Gt emblems. Ba ha ha ha

LMFAO this was hilarious. Especially toyo or whatever making constant sexual remarks it's so easy to see the frustration hahaha. Almost meme worthy. If it was cut short.

Badging your v6 as a gt is retarded but do whatever you want braaah. Hahaha the fogs in the grille though don't matter. Like was said previously no one looks at the fogs and says oh that's a v8, because regular people will not care. If you like the aesthetic do it. Toyo just might be trying to convince dumb bimbos that he has a v8 so he can get some which is fine bro! do ya thang also 99 percent of the people who even give one **** if it's a v8 or v6 will know right away what it is by the sound it makes. Not the fogs in the grille or anything for that matter, even gt badging

The WONDERFUL World of Upgrades. It's like having the most beautiful woman in the world but she can't talk. You will spend tons of money on her and it is never enough. On the Bright Side, not being able talk makes sleeping a lot easier at night.

I want to put the Boss 302 grille with the fog deletes instead of along with the lights. Cheaper and in my opinion, looks meaner.

To the OP of this thread , many here at night have nothing to do , these is an avenue to release what ever syndrome they have. Some good suggestions on the topic on hand. FOR THE RECORD my car has on it's fenders generic white GT/V6 emblems . No need to impress any with my daily driver V6 MUSTANG . For the record, white is generic white GT/V6 emblems? No such thing as a Gt v6 so I can't wait to hear this explination. Actually, better yet how about a picture of those GT/V6 emblems.

Also very nice 240 Zx. Sweet ride

GT grille with foglights..why so expensive!?

I've recently been toying with the idea of buying and installing the Roush upper and lower grilles for my 2014 GT. However, their $400+ price tag has been what's keeping me away at the moment.

That being said, if you'd be interested in buying my OEM take-off's then I'd be happy to sell them to you to help mitigate the cost of the Roush's. I won't need my GT upper grille, lower grille, and fog lights. I will only need to keep the fog light wiring in case I decide to install the CS bumper fogs in the future. Let me know if you want to work something out. They are pretty much brand new as the car only has 1100 miles on it.

Really bro? White, green, blue, orange, yellow, pink, purple, what ever color your GT emblems are. Not a GT you have. Ba ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. V6, and a very nice one at that you have. Shame, your embarrassed of your beautiful V6 so you put on the Gt emblems and Gt front fasica to make people think you have a V8 model. 😔
