Bluetooth Connection

Having a base model 2012, I don't have the microsoft sync that a lot are fortunate enough to have. Does anybody know how I would go about installing a bluetooth connection from my phone to radio?

I should've got the sync in my car. My wife has it in her 2014 fusion with navigation and works quite well. I Regret not getting it now. : (

I researched this before buying. I could not find a solution without replacing the head unit. I made the sync/tech package a requirement.

It would be expensive if at all possable

Go to Amazon and look up a "BLUE ANT" I had one when I had my Mini JCW. It works great and clips to the sun visor, Uses a rechargeable battery, and has a crystal clear speaker. There are other ones but I can't speak for them.

I wish there was a way to get the moments of my life back that I've spent shouting curse words at my sync.

I can't stand it.

Don't feel so bad Mister VIG

My sync either does not like my voice or it just don't understand english.
All I use it for is to answer my phone if it rings and I'm expecting a call from my Doctor or Publishers Clearing house.

Haha yep. Same here.

It's really my only complaint about the car (aside from coming with 2.73 gearing but that's a different topic).

I'm relatively happy with it. The only real issues I've come across are sometimes when connecting it will goof up, and seems Microsoft has an issue recognizing USB connections...

Guy i used to work with had one of these, plays thru the car stereo but theres no mic...

http://m.bestbuy.com/m/e/product/fea...=1218759758130

Great sound for audio tho! Excellent price too. Think he paid $10 at a factory outlet.

Is there anything similar with a built in microphone?? Never been interested in some bulky bluetooth unit with a built-in speaker

+1, my wife's 2014 fusion with sync is bang on, it rarely hiccups. Idk maybe its a newer/better version in the 2014s?

Just use the auxiliary radio jack. That's what I do and use it for phone calls and music.

Yeah I've looked into the portable bluetooth units that you can connect to the visor. Viable option. It'd be cool to get something actually built into the vehicle though and not have to be recharged. Thanks for all the options guys!

The base model has the sync and tech as an option. Why not buy the kit off eBay from a wrecked mustang

I have this: Amazon.com: Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit for Cars with Aux Input Jack (3.5 mm) - supports aptX: Automotive

Works awesome. I have the puck placed under and to the side of the lcd display on the head unit. When using hands free it picks up my voice perfectly.

I would swap out the stuff from a mustang that has the sync and tech package. I have both on my base model 14 pp.

Only problem with using the audio jack is that 1) your limited to connecting with limited data transfer 2) it won't charge your phone at the same time and 3) you can't utilize some of the super high capacity storage devices. Of course if it doesn't know how to read USB what does it really matter.
