Straight line, Mustang wins. Throw a corner there and the Z wins.

Compare the Mustangs suspension to other modern sports cars and it will look pretty prehistoric.

True, but you have to give credit to Ford. For an antiquated suspension setup, it's surprisingly well done.

The Mustang would hit it's speed limiter for over 15 seconds during a lap. With the speed limiter disabled it would smoke the 350z/370z, but we are talking stock cars so... The Mustang is quicker and just as good on the track as long as you have the Performance Package.

They've definitely taken the solid rear axle as far as it could go.

You guys bet $500 dollars and we will all vote on who we think will win. That way no wear and tear on either car.

Better yet, don't and don't post anymore B.S. posts.

I've got a 2014 V6 Auto and a 04 350z stick shift convertible. I plan on taking them to a closed road in Mexico at some point to see which is quicker. I know my 03 Mustang GT Convertible Auto was slower than my 350z but my 2014 V6 is quicker than my 03 Mustang GT so it should be close.

My friend has a 370z with intake catback exhaust, smokes me. I try him as often as I can and I'm getting better at shifting and hanging closer but he still takes me. If I had 3.73 gears instead of 2.73s I believe it would be even.

350 Z's gain hardly anything with full exhaust, intake and tune. Maybe 20 rwhp with all of that done.

The 370's are a bit different..

That's the biggest complaint I hear from 350 owners. It takes a LOT of money before they start seeing any good gains.

I previously owned a 2003 350z right up until I bout my 14 mustang. I raced my friends 2012 v6 on 'closed Street' multiple times all I had was exhaust and racing clutch, he had CAI and axle back. I beat him 4 times out of 5, though part of it may be because his is an automatic. The Z's and mustangs are both great cars and I'd say the mustang v6 and the Z are fairly close to even in terms of drag style up to 70ish mph.

This here is true some really can be ricy when they throw cheap crap on their car, but then any car mustang included can be turned ricy. I had a Z and I believe I modded it tastefully, though I like my mustang better. Here is my mustang and my old Z.

Yea, the changes in 2005 to suspension were a giant leap in the right direction, as far as suspension goes, we aren't too far from a good handling car. Andrew is farther along than I am, but I'm about to start.
