Pony emblem on trunk.

Has anyone here thought of putting in just the pony emblem on the trunk instead of a round emblem with pony or gt on it?

Yes, I have totally thought of this. I want to cut the faux gas cap out, get a simple black deck lid panel, a chrome running pony emblem similar to my avatar, and cut out an insert for the pony on the deck lid panel. I haven't seriously looked into how to do this yet though. Anyone have ideas?

Pony emblem on trunk.

I really like the look of that.

I've never been a fan of the faux gas cap.

Really like the look.

Never thought about removing the round emblem but after seeing fastford's pic, I'm highly considering it.

Doesn't AM sell this emblem?

Yeah I want it so bad. I think it's probably a custom job. Can any one identify the individual components? The decklid panel and the emblem? I could maybe CAD out the emblem and cut the outline out for it into the decklid panel using a laser cutter or plasma cutter. I'd be willing to share that with a few other members of this forum (for free, even) if that's what it takes.

I have my RTR deck lid on order from Blow by Racing. AS soon as it comes in it is getting painted flat black and a Gloss black pony is going in the center. I will post pics once it is done.

I thought all the RTR products were pulled from sites because they went bankrupt and were recently bought out by some foreign company. Could've sworn I read that somewhere

Is this the panel that requires cutting the hump out of the truck lid of the '13 & '14's?

Yes, the hump for the fauz cap does need to be cut out. The MMD and Trufiber bulge all the way across to compensate for that and do not require cutting

Pony emblem on trunk.

Wait so you're saying underneath the fauz cap it has a bulge? I thought that cap was bolted from the inside and with some 3M tapes

He's talking about this, You need to cut that bulge out so that it sits flat...

Cool, thanks. They also have a black chrome version for those who are interested, but at almost twice the price: http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-gril...0-2014/p/GO33/

I think the regular chrome will look better because it will pop out against the black decklid
