Aftermarket parts & Warranty

So I have been considering putting an Airaid CAI on my black-out. I drive a lot and I'd like to gain the extra ponies and the MPG to help out a bit. But my question would be, if anyone knows....if I install a CAI, will it mess with my warranty? I've called several Ford warehouses but no one can give me a solid, straight answer. Or they bounce me around to different departments. Any thoughts? Thanks.

1. They would have to show the intake caused whatever was actually wrong. More trouble than its often worth though.

2. you can always just take it off before you go in and go back to stock...

I had the 5th gear synchro replaced in my 5.0 with full header back exhaust, Cobrajet intake, and tune. It really just depends.

There are a lot of discussions about things like this and the simple answer is...yes it can. They have to prove that your mods are what caused the damage. Its a fine line and it has to be a fight you're willing to accept. My dealer is tough with mods. Technically new wheels can void a warranty. If they are big and heavy and wear out axles or do other drive train problems, they can say it was caused by the wheels. Is it right, hell no but like I said you have to be willing to fight. Talk to your service advisor and see what they say. Most probably wont give you an answer either way because they dont want the liability. Good luck!!

It all boils down to finding a dealership that is willing to work with you. The law says one thing, but they can still drag their feet and make it so costly and uncomfortable for you that it's not worth it to fight them.

Better to sniff around and find a good dealership.
