Steeda vs. Airaid

Hey all I'm trying to do as much research as I possibly can before I bite the bullet and buy a cold air intake/tune. My first question is it worth the extra money to buy a steeda cai? Let's just say I use an mpt 93r tune. Will the gains be the same with an airaid cai or will the steeda produce more power? Also from what I understand "cold air intakes" aren't so much about cold air as they are "air volume" is that statement true? Oh by the way 2013 v6 mca auto bone stock. Any and all input would be helpful thanks

Here is an article that we did that will give you a good overview of our CAI:

Why Steeda Cold Air Intakes Blow Away The ‘Competition’ | Steeda Blog

The Steeda velocity stack serves multiple purposes – primarily to ensure a smooth airflow across the Mass Air sensor so that its readings are not compromised, and also to provide a denser flow of fresh incoming air.

Securely fitted to the velocity stack is a durable silicone connector with dual stainless steel band clamps that attaches our roto-molded inlet tube with our proprietary cool-tube technology.

Together these components provide an extremely smooth transition for incoming air to enter the engine’s intake manifold.

Also, you can take advantage of our 6% off discount code. Feel free to contact me if you wish to save some $$ of the Cold Air Intake.

Best Regards,

TJ

Actual tests say they are pretty much the same as far as performance gains. I went with Airaid.

If the price is the same, and you're getting tuned anyways, may as well get the larger intake. It will have a higher flow potential, which at your mod level may mean nothing, but it will have the possibility of making more power as other mods (headers, cat delete...) are added.

I prefer the air raid because they are clean, look nice, and simple. Plus, they're plastic so heat soak is not as pronounced, but bigger is often times better. Hard to say you could go wrong with either.

I have steeda and the quality is far above the competition. But Ken from MPT has said he sees better gains from airaid on the dyno.

When we write our tune ... we will have the best gains with the Steeda CAI. Can't comment on how other tuners are tuning for the Steeda CAI ... but Chis Johnson with SCT said this:

SCT has seen the highest horsepower and torque results while using Steeda's Cold Air Kit, over any other brand." - Chris Johnson, President of SCT Performance - See more at: ]Steeda 2011-14 Automatic Mustang GT Cold Air Intake - Made in USA 555-3156 - Free Shipping!
