What is plasti dip

Is this a method to turn my stock rims black? I still have stock tires and wheels but have a gray car so do any of you have pics?

Plasti dip is a removable plastic paint that you spray on pretty much anything. It's similar to using regular paint but with the satisfaction of peeling it off if you don't like it after all.
They come in all sorts of colors and also have a gloss that you can spray if you don't like the matte color.

I love plastic dip mainly because it protects my paint and I have the option to peel it off if I don't like it anymore. Here's a pic of my Roush front splitter plasti dipped. I bought the spray can for $10 at Walmart.

I also plasti dipped the chrome ring on the faux gas cap but it started it chip the more I keep touching it when closing my trunk so I peeled it all off.

You can get creative with it though, get your bang for the buck

It was my first time so I didn't do a great job but it still looks pretty good now, it's starting to turn more bronze now because of brake dust and the fact I haven't cleaned my wheels since I dipped them.

Personally I hate the stuff. It looks good for a little while and then it gets dull and dingy looking. It's a poor mans quick fix and in my opinion looks crappy. You guys can give me all the hare you want but I know on my car it has no place.

Can I use it on the chrome part of the grill? That's the only shiny part on my mustang and it's catching my eye in a bad way every time I look at the car.

Currently deciding between dipping my wheels bronze or alien pearl (the color of Rob Rabon's mustang). What do y'all think? I'm leaning towards alien pearl, I have black on them now

Like regular rims, You need to wash them regularly and use armor all to keep it shining.

It's not paint.
It's plastidip.
It comes in a spray can, yes.
Available at home depot, lowes, dipyourcar.com, etc.
Just google plastidip.......

It's a rubberized coating, not paint but, yes, you apply it just like spray paint.
