Drove at 124mph... road noise? Or Differential / driveshaft issue?

Hey guys!

Drove at 124mph today and noticed a humming / rolling like noise at the rear end... wondering what that is?!?!

The car was not shaking. .. its more of a vibrating SOUND rather than a physical vibration. .

Is it a differential issue?

Is it a driveshaft issue?

Or it is just simply road noise? (I'm riding on nitto nt05)

Take note this noise is not present during normal driving but it starts at 100mph when I accelerate hard...

Had a vibration issue before but that was sorted out after replacing my driveshaft.

Thanks in advance guys!

Well, Seeing as they snap at 130-140mph, I'll agree with 2011FastFord.

However, I don't think all DS's are like that, As I've taken mine to 150 without a problem (Dumb, I know) but yeah, It's most likely the DS. I felt that going 120 on my 2007 V6 LOL.

A lot of guys who have the DSS shafts have the vibration at high speed nothing to worry about though

It's just wind and tires that your hearing

At that speed you are pushing a lot of wind and the faster you go the more noises you will hear. Combine that with some tire howl and you will have a symphony of true speed.
Like 2011 fast ford said.

At 180 I thought my Corvette was actually coming apart. At 140 it was as smooth as at 100.

I got the same noise when I was playing around against my buddy in his Focus ST at around 130-140. (In Mexico of course) 140 gets pretty sketchy in these cars but the car was fine.

You mean North Eastern Mexico right?

Admittedly, it was super dumb of me to do. But it was fun playing around with my buddy. He has a little Stage 3 Cobb performance decked out ST. Quick little bugger.
