Bama Performance Tune Issue

Jesus Christ... And here I was in the other thread saying Bama was the best.

I received my tune files... Turns out they sent me a tune "Specifically for my car" IF IT HAD NO AFTERMARKET PARTS.

I'm doing 15MPH and it says I'm doing like 40MPH.

I had the 91R tuned last night, I had to turn back around after 10 minutes of driving because the car felt sluggish (Before I noticed the speedometer off) I would rev it and it sounded as if the car was "Choking" and after just 2 minutes of driving it, I could smell like burning oil or something like that... I went in my sisters truck to work...

Last time this happened with the 91R, But the 89P fixed it, Then they sent me the correct 91R... This time I tried 89P and 87S and they all had the same problem.

This is 2 times in a row already =/ I can't wait until I get the turbo and just dyno tune it and get it over with.... I swear.

This. I gave Bama a second chance before, but their tunes left me disappointed. I didn't have any issues with mine, it's just the performance I see from MPT wasn't there in the Bama tune.

Okay, So... I noticed I deleted the old tunes AND the e-mail that they had sent me the last time I got a new tune... Nice!

I don't want to drive it like this... I drove it to the CVS 2 blocks away from my house today and this happened..

Got home and this is what it was :

Can anyone tell me what that means? I'm a complete Noob.

Thanks

I have to take it to rancho cucamanga (an hour away from my house) so this sucks.... I do have AAA Plus though, Which means I can tow it there and back, But that's no fun! D=

Will do.

Would I have a problem if I drive the car with my current mods on a stock tune? Anything I should know about?

What parts do you have currently? It's not showing your signature.

If it's just exhaust parts and a CAI, you'll be fine on the stock tune. Might be a tad rich if you have long tube headers but nothing too bad.

But when you're getting cam timing CELs, I wouldn't play around or push my luck on that.

If this a direct result of the bama tune install I would definitely let them know what is going on. They could look at the tune and hopefully know what happened to cause this.
That error you are seeing can cause real harm to your motor.

The only things there that having the stock tune will affect are the gears. Your speedo will be a good ways off and your shifting will be wonky if you have an auto, but it's better than the alternative of running it as is.

It is.

About a month ago, I requested a new tune due to a new modification, They sent me one that had this exact problem.

Temp fix was to use the 89P tune which didn't have the problem, While they sent me a fixed 91R tune.. Unfortunately this time around they sent me 3 bad tunes instead of 1...

I'm tired of them.. Had it been 2 different occasions, I'd be alright with it.. But this is 2 times in a row, back to back.

Rush,

Sorry to hear about the trouble here! That's no way to get through the weekend and there's a completely valid explanation for what's causing the problems. We recently found an error in the SCT template which we have now resolved on our end until SCT is able to provide us with a proper fix. After working with our fleet and some customers we've been able to have these fixed in a matter of minutes. Just to reiterate there's absolutely nothing wrong with the tune here. I'm more than happy to have Bama's leave calibrator shoot you a call and explain this further!

Alex

When did you receive it?

Also, You don't have aftermarket gears, So it wouldn't affect you that much... Don't know about the throttle problem I was getting though.

Not saying every tune file is bad, Just saying mine wasn't good.

Give it a try and let us know! Again, there's nothing with the tune here and this is a glitch that's embedded within SCT's tuning software that we just uncovered. I would personally assure you that you're going to be good to go!

I also had an issue with my latest Bama tunes. They would not load onto the tuner. New tunes were sent to me just minutes after I got off the phone with them. Those had no problems. Good luck, man. I hope the newly sent tunes takes care of everything.

Ponie-Sorry about the trouble but I'm happy to hear that Bama was able to get you set up in minutes! Let me know if there's ever anything I can lend a hand with!

Bama Performance Tune Issue

Happened to me as well...they said it is a simple adjustment in the tune that needs to take into account the new SCT software platform that was recently released...they adjusted mine and it works fine.

Did you update your tuner firmware ?

I've had MPT tune on for almost a year. Zero issues. I've just tried Bama AGAIN and the performance just doesn't compare. Like others have said MPT and done. You can even datalog with them to get your tune dailed in. I haven't heard anything bad about Steeda also.

What happened to the OP?
Did Bama fix the issue?
Did he get the MPT installed?

Somethings just don't sound right.

Fuuuuuuuckkk...back to stock man, like ASAP. I had the same issue with Bama on mine. That can seriously screw up your engine dude.

I gave up on them...a soon as I did a dyno tune from a good independent tuner it was like jumping from a pinto into a Porsche! I ain't kidding .

If you are in SoCal (which I expect you are considering Rancho Cucamonga...) GO TO DANNY SWANSON in Torrance !!!

Yes I'm yellin'...

Look him up...swanson performance

Best thing you'll ever do to your stang.

I had the same issue...with 4, not 1 or 2...FOUR Bama tunes. I think these guys just done give a damn or fork out so many random tunes that god knows what you get. Performance sucks as well...because for a "race" tune, I'm sorry...80% of other tuners out there give them dust...

I wonder why they haven't realized that yet...
