Ouch...

It seems that a new F-150 wanted to occupy the same space as my car at the same time. I hate when that happens.

Well, the good news is it at least looks like the back of you car is still at the back of you car, and not somewhere in the middle. I know it sucks but this baby should be back up and going before too long.

I was standing a few feet away. This guy had absolutely no damage and was pi$$ed because he had just got the truck. (Like I shouldn't have been there). He finally coughed up his insurance info. Anything can be fixed but it was scheduled for a big show this weekend.

Yeah, I was going to take both. My son was driving one. It's opening day of our state fair and our Mustang club is displaying 100 cars, now 99.

People's favorite thing to do when they are in an at-fault accident is play the victim card as if you'll feel bad for them.

Anyways, he shoulda went for the backup sensor option huh? I'll be damned if hindsight isn't 20/20. Lol

Sam ins co as mine. It's already been approved and is in the shop. They even said there was a slight possibility of getting it back by Friday but I'm not holding my breath.

I rear ended someone 2 days after buying my 14, a week in the shop turned into 3 weeks. Kept being told a completion date, then being told "cars too new, everything's on backorder".
But eventually I got her back, and since it was my fault I couldn't say too much.

I had to look at him with a stupid stare and ask, "you do know that it was your fault, right?" Then I got a mumbled, "yeah, I though I had room."

Thanks a lot, I have gotten over it relatively quick. The bumper got destroyed and the trunk lid bent but the frame wasn't hurt. It should go back together just fine. The insurance has been stellar and got me a rental within a few hours. I'm just glad that I hadn't backed in like I do 95% of the time.

Actually it just seemed like normal "backing out of a parking space" speed. The car didn't even seem to move. While our cars are supposed to be able to withstand a head on 5mph collision with a flat surface, an angular shot from a steel truck bumper will kill them.

I can understand your grief, but there's a good side to this: it was not a hit and run. The driver that hit you fessed up, and his insurance is handling the cost of the repairs. For this, it ended well.

lots of folks post here that they walk out to a parking lot and discover damage to their Mustang, and no note or witnesses. That truly stinks.

Bucko, while I readily got over any grief, yours is always the voice of calm and reason. I thank you sir.

I feel you, I just bought mine with 23k miles. Literally 7 days after I hit a deer with it. 4k dollars worth of damage later and almost a month for the parts and the process I just picked it up today. Don't rush perfection, get it fixed right there will be another state fair next year but there is only one mustang that is yours! Best of luck to you.

From the Every cloud has a silver lining file, I got a call from the insurance adjuster. While I didn't see it, he found the rear valence was scratched. I had been wanting to replace it with the BOSS/CS/GT500 version. That will now happen as part of the repair cost. He said he would use anyone that I wanted. This one is actually cheaper from AM than the Ford part he estimated. We all win. Yeah.

Yikes. It sucks!
I had my truck hit in front of my house..hit and run. Also had a one year old Fusion T boned at an intersection by an SUV...intentionally I think since he never slowed and just kept going, pushing me sideways as he kept driving up the street. He backed up and sped around me and kept going. No plates. Scum bag. He never was caught. Psycho

You may know this, but in Texas, don't forget to request diminished value. Most insurance companies won't pay it unless you ask. He's at fault and therefor they have to pay.

Not to thread jack, but I'll be getting a re paint in a few months under warranty, would I be able to get Diminished Value for that in VA?

I'm not sure about any other states, but thought I saw Texas plates and know that in TX, if you don't request it (in most cases), they won't cough up info on it. I would look that up on google. I had a brand new Acura in 2008 and a woman backed into my front bumper. New bumper cover- 2,000.00. DV- 1100.00. They will cut a check directly to you. Not to mention, last night in my three week old V6 Premium, a ****** in a brand new BMW 7 series tapped my back end while texting. Then was reluctant to exchange info. It was dark and raining, so I told him I would carefully inspect my car and let him know if any damage was visible. I would look into it. Sometimes, they want to try to get out of it. It's yours and you're entitled to it.

While my car has been in the shop (it's finally due out today), the insurance company gave me a rental. It is a lowest level 2014 Impala with a 3.6 V6. I'm almost embarrassed to admit it but this grocery getter grandma sedan may actually be quicker than my V6 Mustang. Maybe I am just imagining it because I haven't had my car for three weeks but, wow. I looked up the hp on it yesterday and it is the same as our Sixers, 305hp. When stepping on it, it really hauls a$$. It has a six-spd auto that even has a slight hesitation between shifts which makes it feel like you are shifting a manual. I had a 3.5L Taurus before and was nowhere this sporty. Never ever thought I would say this but, good for Chevy.
