3.08 vs 3.15

So i know its a bit unconventional since most people run 3.73 or 3.55. The idea is to keep similar stock dynamics since my plan is to run a borg warner s366 in the far future. Aluminum driveshaft, ported and ceramic coated stock exhaust manifolds, etc,etc.. so my question is this from what i have heard the 3.15 come in the v6 performance package if so whats the mpg's the rpms per mph in each gear and what would the same be fore the 3.08's. with the s366 i plan on running around 10-14 psi. since a guy running the s262 (the s362 in a s200 compressor housing) made 451whp (give or take) on 15 psi. Im sure at 13 psi on the s366 should be plenty for me with some extra top end. Goal #1 keep the first gear useable goal #2 decent gas mileage with slightly better acceleration. and Go!

Oh I thought I read somewhere it was the 3.15. None the less, I would like to know what people think would be better for balanced performance yet usability and the rough mph per rpm kinda thing. Thanks for the heads up

V6 performance package came with 3.31's although I believe some of the GT's came with 3.15's although I could be wrong on that.

just cruising speeds just don't get in trouble. What's the most on the 3.31's?

In sixth gear 70 mph about 2200rpm 27 mpg. @ 55 1800 rpm and 29 mpg. With 93 mpt performance tune. If that's what you're asking

GT auto comes with 3.15, V6 PP is 3.31. I personally wouldn't go with that low of a gear, i would stick with the 3.31 you have. You wont really be making enough power to utilize a gear that long given the weight of the car ... hell, most guys that are boosted typically still end up going with a 3.55 or 3.73

Well I actually am running the 2.73 and I like the mpg not the sluggishness. I was leaning towards the 3.15 because keeping relative mpg while giving it a bit of a help around town in the accelerator department and keeping the engine from being loaded down as much. Hmmm this will be further off but I know it's gonna be aluminum driveshaft then gears or something in that order. I appreciate the info on the rpm per mph and fuel mileage. I think I just gotta internally debate now and set up a course of action for what I'm wanting to achieve

The turbo will increase the engines efficiency, so what gear you pick is almost moot for hwy driving. On my stock turbo Ms3 i was getting maybe 22-24 mph hwy, go big turbo and i **** you not i was getting 35. I'd go with a gear thats actually going to help with performance, and let the mpg thing sort itself out. No sense in putting a "non" performance gear in there when trying to go turbo.

The 3.31 is a nice compromise. My wife had a 2011 with the 2.73 so I had a nice stock to stock comparison. Hers had good mileage on long trips but in order to get it to go I had to drop it into second on the auto. I have a manual performance package that really livened up the driving experience. A few months ago I did the mpt performance tune and that really throws me back in the seat. I gain a couple mpg on daily driving like 23/24 mpg and on long easy going tank long drive it's close to 29 mpg.

3.08 vs 3.15

I test drove a V6 with 2.73s before I bought my car, which has 3.31s and I didn't even know it for a while. Apparently, 3.31s were not only offered with the performance package, but also as a stand-alone option. At any rate, the 3.31s give good mileage. I've actually seen 30-31 on the highway just cruising along. And the difference in acceleration is fairly large as well.

I ran the 93R tune and other mods with cruise control on in 6th gear i get 30MPG on Highway. Its about a 40 mile drive with no traffic.
although... hit the gas and i get like 10mpg

EDIT: Same RPMs 2200 at 70 with cruise on.

Fyi, cruising at 45 mph in 5th gear is right at 2000 rpm with 3.31's. The V6 needs at least the 3.31's imo.
