2012 GT500 Mufflers / Exhasut on 2014 V6 - Worth it?

Hey, I am wondering if it is worth it to put stock OEM 2012 gt500 axle back mufflers on my 2014 Mustang v6.

I have heard mixed feedback. I know will need muffler shop to weld on. I want to know will it sound louder when starting and driving.

Not looking for anything too loud and want to avoid the raspy whiny sound from some aftermarkets. What do you think about putting gt500's on my v6, will it help?

Please Advise!!!!!

It will likely sound like garbage. My prediction would be tin can like.

A GT500 is a long shot from a V6. I'd go with a proper V6 muffler that was designed for it.

If you want the same look, Magnaflow makes quad tip mufflers for the V6. Not sure how they sound though.

I have GT500 mufflers, and they sound awesome! More 'refined' than magnaflows imo, and sound like an exotic when you go wot. Get em, save $$ and you won't be disappointed with sound if you're looking for something mellow with a good rumble .

However, if you're going to remove your cats/resonators, then that's when youre going to get rasp/bit of tin can sound at WOT.

He said Gt500 OEM. As in take offs. Not the V6 version.

There are no v6 version ford only makes one version of these which are OEM for the GT 500s. The GT and V6s require you to modify the bumper and the v6s require exhaust modification to get the pipes to match up since there different sizes.

There's no bumper modification needed my man.. unless theyre quads from 2013-14.

For single tip GT500 mufflers, the only difference is bigger pipe attached to the mufflers. All your exhaust guy has to do is cut stock mufflers from from their inlet and weld GT500s there. Granted it's not a DIY job if you don't have access to a saw and a welding machine.

It took less about 45 mins for my exhaust shop to do it all.

Nope, all pre 2013 gt500 mufflers are single tip and need no bumper modification. Just the inlet pipe that you have work around with.

This was the route I was going to go because of the STH's and true X, I ended up wanting a little more sound and got the Borla's instead, but the 3.7 just like the 4.0 sounds awesome with the GT500 Mufflers on them.

Alright, went and had the mufflers installed today. Cost $80 at muffler shop and they welded on to v6 pipes before the bolt on bracket so they are essentially bolt on mufflers now like the stock.

As far as the sound goes, definitely worth it. Much better than the stock, great sound when you step on it and even accelerating normally it gives a nice sound out the back. No drone on highway or cruising and makes it sound more powerful when you want it to. GT500 mufflers on the v6 definitely worth the investment.
