Affordable Winter Covers?

Car is going outside over the winter! When it is not being driven due to snow I will plan to put it under cover. Does anyone know where I can get a snow cover that wont cost so much? Thanks!

the problem with covers is that unless the car is clean you have a chance of scratches putting it on/off. I cover mine but it Hibernates for 3 months. I bought a Burge/Budge size 3 at the big box store. Made of Tyvek in the USA for <$70.

Cover craft has a nice one on AM for about $180 I believe.

But yes, make sure the car is spotless and there is no diet or debris on the cover before you put it on.

Invest in a cover lock as well, especially if it's going to be outside.

Another thing to look at it maybe some rounded wheel savers. They're ramps that help prevent tire damage. That's only if you're storing it for a long while though.

Thank you! I am totally OCD about my car and its always clean So I plan to wash it before a snow storm then put the cover on for a week or so and remove it once the storm has gone!

$319 seems a bit steep for me just because its for the winter :/

Guess I will keep digging, $70 seems a lot better!

My pops told me a story about how he used a cover one winter when he was young (mind you i sure it wasnt form fitted) but he said from the ice/snow/and wind blowing the cover he ended up with a spot that it had rubbed the paint off to steel. So ultimately, the thing he bought for paint protection didnt actually protect anything. I put mine away last year in a storage facility, no cover or tarp was needed. Cost me $250 for 6 months and the piece of mind i got was great. I managed to find a garage to park it in this year

So Am hearing a lot about these covers scratching and messing up the paint... Are those just cheap covers? How does something soft and padded scratch ur car?

It's not necessarily the cover, it's the dirt, dust and debris that might get stuck on the inside of the cover that slides around on your car.

You have to inspect and clean it before you put it on the car. As well as the car itself.
