Flowmaster Super 44 and Original 40 2014 Mustang V6!

I just wanted to let people know about how the Super 44 sounds on a V6 newer Mustang. I searched EVERYWHERE and really could not find a video or even a blog about the Super 44s on a 2011+ Mustang. So I had the original 40 series and loved them on my 2011, then got a 2014 and decided to try out the Super 44s, they are in fact much better, not a little better, much better. This is on a v6. People have said to not do it to a v6 because it will sound bad, my own shop told me this but I put them on and they sound great. Very aggressive and little to no drone. I did like the 40 series but I would for sure suggest the 44 series. I was very worried about it since I really found nothing online which never happens. I did see the Flowmaster chart showing the 44 series being louder but that is about it. It is not an annoying loud or anything like that, very nice sound. I have clips of before and after just incase anyone wants to see it. This is just to help anyone out that was not finding anything for dual exhaust mustangs or for 2011+ Mustangs. All I saw was 200-2009 and mainly only 1 exhaust which really did not help me when making the choice. Hope this helps!

Flowmaster Super 44 and Original 40 2014 Mustang V6!

I always liked the 40 series for classic muscle cars with big carbureted engines. But I have not heard a flowmaster sound good on anything else.

Do you have a video clip? I'd be interested to hear it and see.

Sound clips

I will post them up tonight for your guys. Honestly the video does not give it justice at all, but you can really hear the rumble on the after video and can hear the difference of befofe and after. This is just the mufflers. All stock pipes and stock intake. Barely got the car so I need to do everything I had done on my 2011. But the videos will be up tonight!

Super 44 Flowmaster on 2014 V6 All Stock Mustang

This is the exact same thing but with the 2 super 44 series. Also this is about 15min after I got them put on. They actually get louder and most people say they really break in about 200-500 miles after put on. So they should get louder but I'm happy even if they did stay like this. This is all stock 2014 Mustang V6.

No I used to have original 40 and now these super 44 I love. The super 10 is that extremely loud not street legal ones aren't they?

Flowmaster Super 44 and Original 40 2014 Mustang V6!

I don't know if they're loud enough to be illegal, and if they are then the cops around here must not care because I've had them on since July.

So are the super 44's a bolt on? I have Roush Axlebacks right now but if these things are deeper then I'm interested.

If I was switching between the two what would I need to have done?

The super 10s have an awesome sound. I had some on my 2010. I've considered having some made for my coyote

I FULLY AGREE!

My New Setup which effects sound
-Airaid CAI
-Resonators Removed (Warning this will make the car LOUD! They Located right behind cats inbetween stock X pipe and cats.)
-Stock X pipe replaced with Custom H pipe (Sounds much louder deeper and meaner now. V8 like below 4k rpms. Above 4k rpms and at WOT it sounds more nascarish. Like a an old school v8)
-Flowmaster super 44
-10" long by 4" wide single wall chrome Tips (This is a MUST! it makes the sound echo within the pipe. Sounds Deeper and meaner. More V8ish)

I have spent a lot (dont ask how much) trying every muffler you can think of. (Buddy owns and exhaust shop) I can say this the Supper 44s are by FAR the best out of the lot. Even tops Borla. Every other muffler other than flowmaster come out sounding very euro. The Original 40s sounded good with this setup;however they had a tingy tin can sound mixed in with a very good muscle car sound. The Super 40s sounded great except at WOT that tingy tin can sound mildly returned. The Super 44s deepen the tone more than the Super 40s and are a tad more quiet. Why are they better? That tingy tin can sound is GONE! =D

So bottom line with the setup I have and the Super 44s just cursing around town I come out sounding like a stock 1995 Mustang GT 5.0

Love these tips. Makes the rear end pop.

My 2012 V6 =D

Just like a younger brother to the V8

That's about the exact same sound I get in the parking structure at work when it first starts and is running a bit rich during the warm-up cycle. Too bad it stops after 5-10 seconds.

That sound all the time? I can live with that. How much did it cost to get it installed?

A whole list of my setup is on the video. The super 44s were $278 installed. You would have to follow my full setup of mods listed on the video to get my cars sound. I love the super 44s because unlike the Original 40s, the Super 40s, Borla or Magnaflow the super 44s maintain a deep mellow tone through all rpms even at 4k+ rpms. When I add the Mac shortys that sound should only get better!

Youtube makes it sound kind of bad and so does shooting the video on a cell phone. It sounds much better in person.

You mention a custom H pipe. Any info on that, or is it a normal H pipe that was just adjusted to fit?

As requested I have REMOVED my older videos and replaced them with this. In this video I used a good camera and an external mic. It has all RPM ranges

Doing the flybys it sounded like my dads buddies 360 Ferrari. But I've had both mufflers on my 65 impala, (super 44s currently) I like the 44s better. Personal opinion super 44s give a better sound than the regular 40 series. All in all nice car.

Excuse my naivety. I was born at a very early age.

the thing with YouTube videos is the type of sound you hear revolves completely around your speakers so if someone listening to the video has crappy speakers or their speakers have no base to them the car will come out sounding like crap
