Lol tbh I'd worry about getting wider tires and a new drive shaft before u test that out.. and the only way ur able to get ur governor off is if u tune ur car

You need speed rated tires for speeds over 120 mph and a tune to remove that.

And a legal place to drive at those speeds....

I too would recommend the one piece driveshaft and some suspension mods before attempting long term speeds.

Just keep it for the track. We like our members safe, along with the others you share the road with.

Steeda & MPT are good. Bama is debatable.

Didn't have any issues with my Bama tune. In fact the 93R was quicker than the 93R from MPT.

^^ You'd be the only one. Also, like has been said, the factory speed limiter is based on the speed rating of the factory tires. Its there for a reason. However, assuming you still have the 2.73s installed, you'll likely get bored or run out of road before you get close to that lol.

Hmmm... maybe you can explain why my '12 PP V6 has the same limiter. I don't think it's limited because of the tires since mine has the Pirellis.

Hmm. I know thats how it was for a while, but it looks like those Pirellis have a speed rating W which is 168 mph. I stand corrected lol, maybe since the V6 comes with so many different options the tune is just calibrated for the weakest tire in the line up.

We're tuned at 120ish, Because our stock driveshaft will get us killed when it breaks at a higher speed.

Only if you run it ragged at those speeds.

It's weak, yes. Should you replace it? Definitely. It's not going to explode the minute you hit 130 though.

Everyone and their mother has seen that video. There have been 2 incidents of this. Two. The videos also don't explain any underlying issues or the full situation.

I know it's not, But why risk it?

I've been past 120 multiple times and each time I do it, I regret doing it because of that "What if?" feeling.

Like the others said. If you want to remove the speed governor you will need to get the car tuned. Via Bama, Steeda, MPT, Lund, VMP and so on.

I would defently recommend a one aluminum piece driveshaft as well bro.

The Mustang Source Website is complete trash and the moderators are complete toolbags. TMS, Go F yourselves!

The Mustang V6 is speed limited to 112 mph from the factory.

The Mustang GT is speed limited to 145 mph from the factory.

You can bet money that they factory has set the Limiter higher to be safe from lawsuits.

Speaking for myself, I have a Bama tuner. I was told the software wouldn't be sold unless I can prove I had purchased or had ordered a new driveshaft. As I purchased my tuner from American Muscle, others might encounter a different policy for their purchases.

Yeah, they just limited across the board I'd say.

Actually, the only thing AM asks you if you have a one piece driveshaft in order for them to remove the speed limiter. Everybody and there mother is just gonna say , yeah I got a one piece. Ha ha ha ha
