I like mine. It cleaned up my axleback a lot. I had the pypes on at the time and it really killed a lot of the rasp. It also quieted them down a bit and deepened them up.

That being said, I found mine brand new for $60.
For $180 or whatever it is on AM, not sure if I would buy it since you maybe get 2/3 HP out of it at the most I'm guessing lol. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on the HP gains. I believe they are very very very slight, like 2 or 3 HP. I did it for sound.

You gotta hear it under load...most cars sound like garbage while idle revving and being recorded on a cell phone. You gotta hear it in person. I think Shuc01 has heard it a few times he might remember.

Buy a set of universal mufflers, use stock tailpipes and tips. For less than $250 you're going to have a sick setup. Here's link to help you with sound levels of various mufflers:
http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation...tml?styleid=27

I personally would suggest borla ProX/XR1 (generic equivalents of S type and atak) or flowtech afterburners (loud with a good tone, no drone).

It sounds good. I'm partial to the lower, deeper Borla + shorties sound, but your set up sounds good!
Thanks bro. Yours sounded great man. Its really hard to compare my sound to yours especially since I have no cats. I'm sure your Borla axle backs would sound much different with long tubes and off road x pipe. Lol

Not nearly as high as AM but still a little out of my comfort level for a mod purely for sound.

I completely understand bro. My type of exhaust set up is completely different but I like Grabber's as well. I personally wouldn't change one thing on my exhaust set up and most important on the topic at hand. Love my Flowmaster Force II axle backs. Lol

I'm gonna toss my Roush in the ring. I quite enjoy them. After they settled it they are not too intense. Louder than some s-types I heard. $469 new.

Well, actually I can relate to what your saying about not liking how they sound. I actually did have two small issues with my Flowmaster Force II design which was easily fixed but none the less. My first issue was the tips are rolled up and water would pool inside the tips.

My tips did not come with a drain hole so water would pool in the exhaust tips. The water would get sucked back down into the mufflers during non acceleration and when revving engine, water would be spewing out and would give off a horrible crackle like sound. Second issue there was no drainage hole in the bottom of mufflers themselves so water would pool all over the baffles.

My fix for both issues. First called up Flowmaster and complained how the tips suck balls by not having a drainage drilled hole for water. After 10 minutes of getting no where I just ordered a set of angled tips and no more water pooling inside the tips

To solve the second issue of water pooling inside the mufflers and baffles, I drilled two small holes on the underside of the mufflers. Let me tell you my friends. You can't f ing believe how much water just pools inside your mufflers and baffles which that water has an effect on your exhaust tone. Having drilled a small hole has made a huge difference. I can come home from driving my pony, park my car in the garage and come back an hour later. You can't believe how much water had dripped out from the mufflers onto my garage floor. Its crazy to think all that water was just pooling inside the muffler and going nowhere but that water will affect the sound and tone.

Just listening to the video I didn't hear any popping crackling like sound coming out but perhaps in person it is. I wound up removing the tips to see when I rev it if it made that crackling sound and it didn't when I took the tips off. Do you have any drainage holes in your end of the tips? Also, still good idea to take small drill bit where it looks welded on the back end and drill small hole to allow water to drain out. The baffles will stay much dryer and better sounding.

All mufflers and tips "should" have weep holes. As Kona said, they should be very tiny, not enough to affect sound, but enough to let the condensation out.

Definitely. It looks like Jegs has the cheapest across the board.

I'll probably see if AM will pricematch them. I haven't heard anything bad about Jegs' service, but I'm more familiar dealing with AM.

Also, still good idea to take small drill bit where it looks welded on the back end and drill small hole to allow water to drain out. The baffles will stay much dryer and better sounding.

This crackling, do you hear it as the rpms start to come down on decel or when you do the initial rev?

You can kind of hear it in the video around 12 sec mark as I I initially rev it, plus there are small parts where it pops and crackle on decel. I'll droll the hole. It's just past the weld where the tips meet the muffler correct?
