Brake Question

I have a 2014 and I removed the brake fluid cap without cleaning the cap off first. Should I be ok? I don’t want any debris in my brake lines. I had the cap off maybe 5 sec so I’m not worried about water getting sucked in from the ambient air. Also, are you supposed to pump the brakes before opening the brake fluid cap since I have ABS? I’m sorry these are dumb questions but I don’t want to ruin my car and spend $1,500 to replace the ABS system.

Your car will be fine. I can't imagine, with the car being so new, that there was very much grime around the cap anyway.
And I've never heard that you need to pump the brakes before opening the cap on the master cylinder.

What was your reason for opening the cap on the master cylinder in the first place?

I just had my car detailed earlier in the day and so I was admiring it at night. The detailer said he cleaned the engine so I was looking under the hood and decided to check the fluids. I wasn't thinking and decided to check the brake fluid.

I read somewhere that some ABS systems require that you pump the brakes 25-30 times before you open the master cylinder.

I'm just hoping I won't have problems down the road

Alright thanks. I like to worry about small things. I had water spots all over my paint/windows from parking by a sprinkler and that kept me up for a few nights this past week until I took it to a detailer
