Bama Race Tune Shifting

Just recently updated my tunes and went from a 91r to 93r.
It had been about 2 months since I originally got the 91r.

Feels like now my 93r tune does not shift as hard as before. Before it felt as it would "kick" into the next gear.

Why is this??

Just feels like it shifts a little different now. Is this just the new tune? Something Bama has changed? I've driven it at least 50 miles on this tune

My next purchase is probably going to be a Bama tune. Still early in the build process so the lifetime will definitely get some use.

I've never had problems. Just feel like this tune doesn't shift as aggressive as the previous one. Both race tunes. The previous was 91 and now 93

I think you'd love the Bama SF4 Tuner on your GT! It's definitely one of the best modifications that can be installed on our cars and especially the Coyote it pulls like a train!

If it's still feeling like this they're happy to take a look at your tune and have the shift points firmed up for you! Shoot them a call and they can get you setup!

Are the shifts supposed to be smooth or more jerky with the race tune? Like from 2nd to 3rd at high rpm shifts

Or is the jerk feeling after shifting just from torque?

Bama is going to run the tune a little more conservative to appese the masses, if you want the tune to be more personal do a datalog or just email them asking them to firm the shifts up. I would think that smoother would be better as its not as hard on your engine.

Thats true, though the autos can be finiky so having it kick into gear every time you go hard on it seams a little on the rough side. I have a manual so I can drop the clutch however hard I want. Slowly to be more gentle or just let it go to get the wheels loose a bit.

Have you tried pulling the 47 fuse? It could be your adaptive shifting has changed since the tune was installed.

Pull the #47 fuse for 10-20 minutes. Reinstall it and see if it makes a difference. I use a relay and my time has remained the same as day one.

I have an X3/XF3 tuner for my '09 and I can change my shift firmness myself, as well as many other parameters. I did NOT purchase mine from Bama.

You can't adjust shift firmness yourself? Does Bama disable this? What tuner do you have?

I did the #47 fuse pull and it seems to be shifting much better. Not as jerky on WOT shifts. Still think my old tune was better though

First off keep your car in D manually shifting from 1 to 2 etc is actually slower then leaving it in D the whole time. If you had an older car manually shifted the gears was better but in the 11+ Mustangs its better and shifts faster leaving it in D for the automatic.

You should look in to installing the relay, otherwise you will need to re-pull your fuse every week or two. Installing the relay is very easy. I've been using one for about 6+ months.
