Mac seems to have less quality issues with finish, welding etc. They're also a bit easier to install.

As for equal and tuned. Equal length is shorties and tuned length is longtube headers.

Oh ok nvm lol yea I have read a lot about the bbk and them having issues with quality but that's why I'm getting the ceramic. The quality issues seem to be with the chrome ones.. and now it looks like after reading I'm gonna have to bbk ones which is fine because I don't think the Macs will pass omissions in Texas

Well autoanything has the bbk ceramics for 380$ and with 15% off there only 322$ might have to jump on that first thing tomorrow

Equal length is just that, tuned length are set up so that the exhaust gas from the previous piston helps the next on that side, the BBK Shorties are Tuned length.
BTW, Even though I had to return a set for a bad weld I still have BBK Shorties on mine and the low to mid range power bump is more than worth it

My Mac shorties had fitment problems. Had to have the mid pipe welded. But other than that they're great! Super easy install.

The terms equal length and tuned length are synonymous. Runners are tuned because they're equal. Just based on reviews, i plan on ordering the Macs, but i have no first hand experience with either.

BBK solved the quality problems

I have read on this Forum as well as another that BBK fixed the issue with the bad quality welds they had.
Maybe someone that got headers lately can let us know for sure.

It should probably be re-iterated that the mac's are easier to install. I have no first hand experience with the power they produce, but can see by looking at them they are easier. (as well as words from the wise who have installed both)

I just got the catless x pipe about a month ago, their welds are still garbage. Enough to hold, but slag and jittery welds everywhere in that center piece and on the insignia.

I personally went with the Macs due to the equal lenght design. Not to take away anything from bbk they do make a great looking set of ceramic shorties. I had zero fitment issues with the Macs, I did have to change the collector bolts on both headers. The midpipe would bottom out before it would completely tighten. The headers where very easy to install. I believe either way you go the performance gains will be very similar. One thing for sure, go with the ceramic headers mac or bbk.

Mac or bbk!!

Once you made a choice between the two, try to add this fastener, it will make your install much easier, clean look plus piece of mind that it won't come loose.

I use BBK for my sixer. Also, IMO stock header gasket is better than what BBK included in the kit.

JBA is for GT and GT500 they dont make headers for a V6. The only brands that make headers for a 11+ V6 is BBK, Mac, Borla, and ARH.

I had a set of BBK shorties installed while I was in Afghanistan. I could definitely notice a difference after they were installed. Now as far as sound quality there isn't a huge difference in my opinion. I can notice a different exhaust note but I do have Borla Touring Catbacks installed as well. As far as power, there was definitely a difference. Last week I finally put a Bama tune on my Mustang and noticed both an increase in sound and power. Although shorties don't require a tune, I'm sure everyone else would agree that you would get more from them with a tune.

Ordered a set of BBK ceramics about a month ago, installed them and spent 2 weeks searching for what I assumed was a gasket leak. It was a Bad weld on the passenger side collector. I couldn't locate the leak until it was up on a lift. Other than the leak, I am very pleased with the sound/performance gains.
