I did delete Time Running since "Time" is a default. It was still giving me some grief however, so I went in and renamed all the columns. The SCT likes to attach a lot of characters and numbers to the column names, so to test my theory I went in and just called things "Time," "vehicle speed," "RPM." And it was much happier. Maybe I can get with Brad on this, as having to rename columns every time isn't the end of the world (and for some reason I don't have to do it on mine...), but it is mildly annoying.

Also, it looks like you must have hit a bump or something at the end of your log because HP shot up over 5000 lol... gotta be a smooth road, but luckily everything under 6000 recorded smoothly. Does this look about right? Keep in mind, adjusting occupancy weight, tire height, ambient temp, gear... will impact the numbers as well, I literally just uploaded your log with the base data since I didn't know what to enter.

Excellent progress. Would you mind sending me that datalog file so I can open it on my end?

I logged that one on a straight, freshly-paved road. Have no idea why it hiccuped like that.

Anyone in Daytona FL area have a good "closed" road to data log on. I ran out of Mexico cause of construction.

Yours is an auto right? Did it try to shift or something at the end? I've never personally messed with the autos, but maybe if it tried to shift and the rpms bumped or you hit redline, something to make the massive shift in HP, but yeah i can send you back that file.

Edit: Realized I don't have your email so I have attached it here.

Slightly less convenient, but you can always get plenty of logs in at the drag strip.

Highway? Not sure why you all are going to Mexico. Youre just asking for trouble. Plus the roads are garbage.

Oh and correct me if i'm wrong, Mexico in mustang evolution's dictionary refers to a 'closed country road, with no drivers/cars traveling on it what so ever' lol you can be in Canada and go to 'Mexico' whenever you please :p

Ran a 3rd gear pull data log and put it into vd. It said 287hp and 279tq. Not sure how accurate it is and it wasn't the best run. Getting my tune adjusted too so I will play with it more.

I wonder how accurate it is. I mean I have 3.31 gears, manual transmission, steeda Intake, 80mm throttle body, axle back exhaust, 18 lb aluminum drive shaft, shorty ceramic headers. Only thing left I could do is a catless xpipe and ported im's.

Ive been hearing a lot good things about its accuracy. Well to narrow it down we all know that an axel back wont do squat for your power except maybe reduce a little weight so that will go toward your acceleration and wont show up on the virtual dyno, also the alum drive shaft, same thing. It may free up some power but its more a weight thing and will aid in acceleration and may not show up on a dyno. All in all with your other mods id say thats a good number figure considering you still have the stock mid pipe. Changing out the mid pipe will help those numbers out a lot more...even the ported IM.

Yeah only another 1,000$ and I'm all set hahaha. Guess I have to wait and ask Santa for a catless xpipe and ported manifolds.

Did you change the occupancy weight? It will factor in the weight of your car, but adding the weight of yourself and any other stuff in the car will also effect the numbers. Same with the tire height, ambient temp... Post the graph if you get a chance.

I added my 240lbs and I changed the tire size and gear ratio to what I have. I also changed ambient air to intake air temp at the maf sensor. I read that it is more accurate than just putting it at air temp outside because the air going into the engine is higher than air temp.

I also left out a few things like torque source and such. What should I select for best vd data?

To be more accurate you should need to find the weight change due to mods as well. The mufflers might be significant.

Question: did you redline it during your datalog? Also, under options see what 'dyno' setting youre running. Virtual dyno us set at 1.00, mustang dyno at 0.95, and dynojet at 1.05 (hence this one would yield higher numbers)

I ran dynojet. So it's higher as in yields lower numbers?

Umm 1.05 for dynojet and 0.95 are just correction factors for dynojet and mustang dyno.. compared to virtual dyno numbers. For example if you're reading 100 on virtual dyno, it be 105 on dyno jet, and 95 on mustang dyno setting.

Also, I don't think shorty headers are going to give you massive 'peak' hp gains, more like under the curve. Go catless, and maybe you will see another 10-12 hp at peak.

Very correct. Mid pipe and cat removal will get you more peak power, but it will change the sound and some find for the worst.

They will but only in the mid range 3k-5k which i think is more important. Well maybe not important but defiantly needed.

Im hoping the weather clears up tomorrow so I can run a datalog to try out on this.

Nice. Well I think 0-120 is more ideal for our cars. Especially for autocross. Not many places to go 120+

I've discovered the way SCT names the columns is what is confusing the program due to all the extra characters it adds. I've found if you have a good clean log, just start - floor it- stop, and just rename the columns it works every time. I'm still working with Brad because i'm not sure why some SCTs work just fine and some are throwing hissy fits.

Do some of you have X4s? I am using an older x3 on both my GF and I's cars and our logs work without issue?

I am using the x3 as well and my logs work great. I am just fiddling with the car settings in the vd because the performance package is a little different

Sorry, didn't realize you had emailed me, but I got it.

I realize the "Throttle" column is what is causing the issues. I looked up my logs and mine says "Throttle angle Actual," But the people having issues and sending me issues have it saying "Throttle angle absolute." I'm not sure if this is a m6 vs a6, 5.0 vs v6, X3 vs x4 issue, but basically if you just delete everything in that column header except "Throttle angle" The logs are happy.

Unfortunately it looks like you hit a bump in the road or something because we ended up with a bump in the graph, but we were able to get some good low end data on your car. That flat 300 wtq is pretty damn solid. I have a feeling coming down off that bump messed up the HP around 6k as well, I would except you're making more than 250 whp, but its just a trail and error thing to find a good road at this point. Granted, I may not have all your parameters set up right in regards to occupancy weight, tire height, gear(s) ...

Hmm those numbers don't look normal.for a moded v6. 300 is high for tq values. And 250 hp is low for a moded v6.

Like I said, I may not have input his values correctly, and the whp at the top end is a result of coming down off that bump. The output is only as good as the input with this program.

It was about 30-40* in the log he sent me too, so I wouldn't doubt a little extra torque from the cold weather.
