Rear Window Louver Discussion

How does everyone feel about rear window louvers?
Do you like the retro styling, or do you prefer the sleekness of just the window, etc.?Click image for larger version

It depends on the day... Some days I hate the look of them, other days I think they can look quite good. It really depends on the rest of the car. I don't think you can throw them on any mustang.

Idk in not a fan, just doesn't seem to go with the lines of the newer mustangs. But appearance is so subjective it really depends on your tastes.

Personally I love them on the 11-14 mustangs. I plan to get one on mine eventually. Love the retro style of them!

I would never put them on my car because I don't want to block my vision out of those windows, but I think they look badass on some cars.

I like them on some cars, still debating what mine would look like with them. The only way I would do this is with the thin aluminum louvers, not the cheaper plastic ones.

I like them; very retro to the early 70's Mach I days.

However, steer very clear from the cheap plastic ones being sold on Ebay. I bought one, drove it on the highway, and it vibrated to the point that I had to pull over, and yank it off. By the time I found a safe spot to pull over, three of the middle plastic center bars had split, so it was junk anyhow. Fortunately, I got my money back (love Ebay and paypal). The vendor was not interested in me sending it back; must have known how cheap they were.

Spend the bucks and buy the aluminum ones.

The aluminum ones block less of your view than you'd think.

Whiles this one's a New Edge. the louvers are desgined similarly for the '05+ Mustangs

I believe this one's a '05-'09 so the louvers for the '10-'14 should be nearly identical.

I like on the classics. Not bad on the fox body except GT. Dont like on any others until 10-14 style and only on black mustangs for those years

Rear Window Louver Discussion

Like them, had on my 2012 GT/CS and have them on my new 2014. Keeps cooler in summer heat and keeps rear window free from most frost or dew ) Visibility is still very good even with side louvres.

I think it depends on the car. Looks really good on some cars and not so good on others. I tend to like them better on the darker colors.

I was going to buy the aluminum ones since they were on the fall sale at American Muscle but I didn't know it ended on the 17th so I have to wait to get them :/

I have a '14 ruby red with the FP6 Package so I already have black rims and the black spoiler. My plan is to buy the louver and plasti dip my roof to match the louver. If I don't like it, then I might just paint the louver and apply stripes along the entire car including the louver. Idk yet though

I've heard tales that these can rattle pretty bad. Is it just extreme temps or more depending on make like abs vs aluminum?

^This-I think they're really trick and nostalgic of the Mustangs of yesteryear and the Aluminum Window Louvers are definitely where it's at! Check out some of the customer submitted images to get an idea of how they'd look on your Mustang and let me know if you have any questions, I'm always around to help!

It's a matter of buying quality parts vs eBay/ cheap knock offs. Although they look the same there not the same quality. From being on here it's amazing how many people will cheap out over 50-100 dollars in a 25-40 k car; just doesn't make sense. Gotta Save up and do it right the first time.

I don't tend to like them but in the original post it looks good with the black accents and the dark glass roof of the gold colored car.

This is one of those opinion things...if you like them get them.

I'm probably going to get the plastic ones from AM. I've always loved the look on the older stangs.

If you go with the plastic ones, I'd suggest the MMD ones over the other set abs plastic they have. The MMD set is designed to be similar to the aluminum ones in appearance. The others look like they'd block too much of your rear view and the rounded design just doesn't give that aggressive feel in my opinion.

I really like them. I'd do it on mine, if there weren't performance parts to be had...

Yeah I wasn't planning on getting the rounded ones. I don't really like the look.

The reviews on am for the aluminum ones aren't great they say those rattle to but they do have plastic ones that seem to have a lot better reviews. But yeah def wouldn't go with eBay brand sh$&
