What is this piece in the trunk?

I was looking for a place to mount my amp today and was thinking of screwing it in to the back of this plastic piece facing the rear seats. It sounds hollow but I just wanted to check and see if anyone knew. Click image for larger version

Not positive but I think that's the wiring channel for the entire rear end. Better have a better look before you drill, otherwise your brake lights may not work lol.

I would like to check out what's behind it but I haven't found any diagrams that show how to take apart the trunk area of the car yet.

I think that's part of the inner rear seat panel if you're looking at the forward corner of the trunk.
