Headers and X-Pipe or Sound System?

I could use a vote on this one. So the wife is going to let me blow some money. Should I go for the headers and x or a new sound system.....

Bit of a catch 22. With the right exhaust system, you wont listen to your radio. I hardly do lol

For a good stereo set up, say from Cutchfield with the Metra or Sochshe kit, stereo and the accessories you're looking at ~$500-800 depending on your options.

Headers, depending on shorties/longtubes and an x that's catted/off road.

Also, consider if you're able to install either of them. The headers and X just take a good chunk of time, they aren't complicated, just a bear.

I've never been much of an audiophile. I replaced the door speakers because a guy on here was selling a set of Kenwood speakers for a reasonable price.

I'm more about performance mods. They make me happier.

It's all what YOU want for your car though.

I wouldn't give up my system for any thing. If you heard mine your choice would be easy...

This. A decent stereo from pioneer Kenwood/pioneer is going to cost you at least 300 bucks and depending on options you want (hd radio, android app connectivity, nav etc) it can go easily to $500-700. Plus around 150 in adaptors to keep your sync system and steering wheel controls. About 200-300 for the dash kit. If it was me, i'd also want to upgrade your speakers at this point, another 150 bucks. And labor $$ if you're going to pay a shop to do it.

Personally, I'd suggest you just upgrade your door speakers to some good polks (stock dash is way better than POS scorche/Metra for their price imo), and buy headers + mid pipe of your choice. You'd be much happier with listening to your exhaust, than stereo loll

Why not do both? I did the speakers first, then got Magnaflow axlebacks, then added an equalizer and amped all four speakers. Saved money by doing all of the installation myself.

To each his own, right?
My exhaust isn't louder, it just sounds better now. If I want to listen to my exhaust, I turn down the radio. If I want to listen to the radio, I turn it up. I've got the best of both worlds.

Volume knobs?! Madness!!

I haven't been into hardcore audio in years. To me the stock deck with upgraded speakers are perfect and exhaust is a better upgrade.

Don't change your midpipe and only shorty headers if you're worried about inspection. As for catbacks or axlebacks, you'll be fine with whatever.
