New shift knob and boot

Just replaced my factory shift boot and knob today...it's not bad. I wished I was able to get it to match better but it's nice. Makes it feel a little more me inside the car now.

Nice!

Did your door panel inserts come that colour or did you have them done?

+ 6-8 HP!

Now on this page I have an ad from TWM Performance with a weighted solid Gold knob...(Skin coat of Solid Gold over ?) for $288.00 I'm gonna guess that adds 15 HP! I admit to liking my Old School white cue ball know compared to the OEM both in looks but also in feel.

That's the Lava interior that was offered briefly on the 2012s. I havnt seen (in person that is) another car with it.

LOL Mud...i am starting to find the smaller knob to be a little odd. It feels really tall now (shifter). I don't have as much control of how the car shifts with this small knob.

I think with a short shifter it might feel better.

EBAY....

Oddly enough too its significantly heavier than the stock knob....just a little smaller, Also I didnt have it tightened down enough so It sits a little lower and the solidity (if thats even a word, amount of solidness?) is much better. Its stiffer, feels much better now.

Whats funny is when i put my Barton short throw in with the stock shift knob i wasnt impressed. Got the Retro white knob from AM and really loved the feel of the two, and considered it a winner. Let my GF try to retro knob to see if she liked it, and now i love driving my Barton with the stock shifter more than the Retro knob o_O Funny how things work like that lol... but that whole rig you got there looks nice.

Ya know I think its the cars feel. you get this feeling of big and burly when driving this car and the stock shifter and knob have had a great feeling for me. The last car I had it just felt clunky so the shifter and knob i switch after 500 miles.

LOL I forgot about this...so i ended up finding a knob that has the feel I had with the stock knob (more controlled shifts) but keeps this same style...turns out its the stock shift knob from a FR-S! LOL, I'll post some pics once i get it in the mail and install it.

Finally got it . Looks good, clean and it shaves down the throw quite a bit too. Feels more in control and am more confident shifting quickly. Before I'd slip going into 2nd a lot. Not anymore

It fits the interior of the car a lot better too i think. Now if i can find a nice Steering wheel with a similar stitching color that would make the interior complete...for now. I still really want to get the window control trim ( on the doors) done in a carbon fiber look. The vynal you lent me Shun didnt work too well. it started coming undone pretty quickly. Maybe i needed more heat? Stick it in the oven at 150 - 200 for a few mins perhaps. Not going to do anything till i know for sure what went wrong.
