How do I make the Procharger run 10PSI??

I read this in a different thread a couple days ago and saved it, But forgot to save the username of the poster...

Quote:
You can add a "torque booster" to the procharger and end up with some fat torque. I personally am a fan of turbos, but as far as the 3.7 is concerned the procharger is the way to go.

Basically with a centrifugal supercharger, if you install a 10 psi pulley you get 10 psi somewhere around redline. With the torque booster, youd install a 15 or so psi pulley, and then add a 10 psi wastegate (psi can be adjusted via springs) on the cold side and voila; you now have 10 psi for virtually your whole pull since you're spinning the blower harder.
Seems like the easier and safer route to me. I believe LPFs problem is not a shoddie kit. Justin and I may not see eye to eye, but I have seen his work and even tuned some of his kits before. I don't question his fabrication skills. His ability to tune however, after seeing the fate of a few of his cars now, I do question. But that's enough of that.
Where can I get the stuff required to make the procharger run 10 PSI at all times like the user above said?

I see this right here :

Procharger 8 Rib Supercharger Pulleys - Justin's Performance Center

Which one would be the one required for 15PSI (As stated) and also what else exactly would I need?

I just ordered my procharger from AM.

It was me, something like this is what you're looking for with a 10 psi spring. As far as what specific pulleys will get you there, that i do not know, you'll have to ask someone with a procharger.

Team Beefcake Racing "Torque Booster" for 2011-2014 Mustang 5.0's with Vortech / Paxtons

Also understand that this piece is designed for a 5.0 pipe route, it may not work with the v6 pipe route or diameter (though i believe both kits are 3"). It may be worth doing some googling and finding a 3" piece of straight pipe with a V-band such as this:
Tial Blow Off Valve Adapter- TREADSTONE PERFORMANCE

And just find a corresponding wastegate that will match that V-band. This may give you a little more versatility in placing the WG.

Also, you have a 6 rib blower kit, not an 8-rib, so those pulleys likely wont be the best choice.

I don't have fist hand knowledge about FI systems, is it true procharger built 1 psi of boost every 1000 rpms or so? If so, does it mean it will have 3 psi at 3k, and 7 psi at redline? Assuming it's a stock procharger kit with no upgrades.

Also, let's say you're using a 15psi pulley with 10psi waste gate like volt suggested. At what rpms can you expect to see your full 10 psi boost? Umm 3500-4000 rpm or even before?

The kit I have came with a 3.85 pulley and from what I can find this is a 9.5psi pulley. To run a pulley small enough to hit 15psi you would have to run 8 rib pulley and custom 8 rib crank as the procharger supplied pulleys are 6 rib. I've ran a 3.4 pulley on another car years ago and needed to swap over to a 8 rib set up due to the massive belt slip I was getting with the 6 rib.

Centrifugal superchargers build boost in a nonlinear way. Say you start making boost at 2000rpms then at 3000rpms your at 2 psi some where in the rpm range it will start to increase. Say at 4000rpms instead of 4 psi you might see 4.5 psi and at 5000rpms it might be 6 or 6.5 psi. This is of course just an example and not the boost curve of a procharged 3.7

I'm guessing you can upgrade to a D-1 procharger and a 8 rib setup when you order your kit? Is there any 'significant' advantage of going with a D1 blower instead of P1? I have read quite a bit about these two, but mostly on v8 cars pushing 625+ hp.

I completely understand what you're trying to say about the boost curve. However, I was wondering wouldn't your blower make 10psi of boost at around 5000rpm IF you're using a 15 psi pulley with a waste gate? Assuming you'll be pushing 15 psi at 7000 rpm.

Also, can your ecu/tune make a difference (to a certain degree) to how soon/late you're building boost. Sorry for noob questions, it's still uncharted territory for me.

No, the waste gate controls the boost, so the max it will ever be is still only 10 psi, it will just see it much sooner, and thus have a stronger mid range.

Exactly that's what my question is/was. Is 'how soon' fairly subjective and depends from blower to blower?

You would have to find someone who has done that on a 3.7 mustang to get a answer on rpm vs psi with wastegate. I look around a few months ago but had no luck,as for the 8 rib pulley, yes you can get drive pulley for the blower but you will have to source your own crank pulley. Procharger only makes a 6 rib atleast that's what I was told when I called them a few months ago.
